Classic (To Be)

I really loved this series, when I read post-apocalyptic I don't want to know the rules, the author has to guide me to suspend my reality, the authors did that brilliantly. I can listen to each of the books, over and over and hear something new. The author did well in getting me to know the unique personalities of the characters, even though there are many of them. Kevin Pierce (narrator) made the difference too, he seemed to enjoy the book, that he really "got into" it. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because there were too few description of "the cart", the description is vague, the camps are not well described, scenes of camp life, what did Seren learn and see on her stops. I was also pleased at the chapters start and stops, it made it easy for me to find my favs and just focus on them. I have sense purchased the eBooks on Kindle (Book 5 not yet on Audible, when it becomes available I will select it). While different story lines, I put this series at the level of "The Road", "Earth Abides" and "After It Happened"

Compelling!

This book is just as compelling as book one.
I have already downloaded books three and four.
I am fascinated by the sub-story as seen through the eyes of the wolves.
Kevin Pierce does another excellent job as narrator!

Adventure Into a brutal life.

The characters and story are great, however the segues left me a little disoriented at times, otherwise a really good story!

Captivating

I could not stop listening! the characters are well written and the drama draws you in and keeps you hanging on. A bit tedious in spots but a necessary evil all books struggle with. All in all a very good listen. im very happy with the decision to purchase.

Futuristic Dystopian

No zombies! Realistic fiction following different clans as they wander to survive away from the winter regions, against other clans, into the creeping Blythe as it and disaster as the people hold on to their final generations to survive

Seperate Adventures

As Gaston and his group head off toward the White Tower, main group of Elk pack continues and Sorcha sets out on her own to survive the winter.
This second installment in the Dustfall saga is a fast paced adventure through a dark post-apocalyptic world that challenges leaders and brings out both the best and the worst in the survivors.
I really like the characters and it's been a pleasure to watch Jonah grow into the leader he was meant to be.
An interesting read.

Feels transitional

Writing and imagery is good, like the first book, but this one feels more transitional with less character development than the first. Still has some of the problems of the first, with short unnecessary chapters from tertiary character perspectives. Drags in the first 30 or so chapters but picks up around the last 15.
