The most unpleasant character

Totally struggled to finish. The main character is so unpleasant with her sheer inability to be remotely polite and decent. I cannot believe Joe saw smth in her ever and I caught myself secretely cheering for her to fail.

Sophie Kinsella is always good for laughs

I love reading and listening to Sophie Kinsella books. They are amazing. Good listen. The narrator was also quite good.

As great as always

Sophie Kinsella never disappoints. Funny, witty, heartwarming. This book is a lovely and fast read. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline.

Incredibly boring

I couldn’t return this because I’d hit the return limit so I persevered until the end but it was truly awful. No storyline to speak of, the main character was very unlikeable and it was first world problems at its best.

Very boring...

The main character hides under the table for most of the story and struggles to decide if she should get out during the party she crashed into...
Omg... I really struggled to finish it...
Not typical Sophie Kinsella's funny and engaging story...

Slow start

I found this difficult to get into and nearly gave up. I found the characters quite annoying and the plot far fetched and predictable. However by half way through it got better and I managed to see it through. I think the main problem is that I didn’t like the narrator- I find her voice a bit whiney and too high pitched. Or maybe I have just grown out of Sophie Kinsella stories.

Heartwarming

A beautiful story of love, soul connection, laying down roots and family. Really enjoyed this one, nice easy listen, very funny in places, quirky and upbeat. Brilliantly narrated. Five stars from me.

Dull

All male characters had the same voice. Not a single character had a redeeming feature
Loved all of Sophie Kinsella’s books but this one was not enjoyable

Can’t Sleep ?

This book is so badly written, and extremely boring. Don’t bother listening to it unless you can’t sleep. Guaranteed to get you slumbering in 10 minutes.
Will never read this author again.

disappointing and very predictable

I've read every Sophie Kinsella book and maybe it's me getting older, but this one felt really flat. it's a predictable take on another middle class family 'drama' but I think overall it was the narrator that drove me potty. the text would state something about a character acting in a particular emotional way, but the voice acting was another emotion entirely.

Really loved this book.

Really loved this book, enjoyed the shenanigans of Effie, enjoyed the little triumphs along the way & loved the update at the end. The story was well read.

Boring and ridiculous

Kept listening thinking it would get better, it didn't. The last few Sophie books just have not been to her usual standard. Stick with her earlier books

Awesome narration

Fiona Hardingham one of my favourite narrators!

A light story with a few laughs, but not much of a romance. A bit over the top in some parts.

Lame plot

Sophie is one of my favourite authors but this story is dire. The plot is so threadbare and lame . The middle of the book when `Effie is crashing the party is the best. But overall it is hard to care that the plot is based on a grown adult trying to find her childhood dolls .
