Publisher's Summary

Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers." But it often seems like conflict and disagreement are unavoidable. Serious, divisive conflict is everywhere - within families, in the church, and out in the world. And it can seem impossible to overcome its negative force in our lives.

In The Peacemaker, Ken Sande presents a comprehensive and practical theology for conflict resolution designed to bring about not only a cease-fire, but also unity and harmony. Sande takes listeners beyond resolving conflicts to true, life-changing reconciliation with family members, coworkers, and fellow believers.

Biblically based, The Peacemaker is full of godly wisdom and useful suggestions that are easily applied to any relationship needing reconciliation. Sande's years of experience as an attorney and as president of Peacemaker Ministries will strengthen listeners' confidence as they stand in the gap as peacemakers.

This is an abridged version. It did not list this when purchasing. The book is fine but incomplete.

Making me aware of the small things that I can do to make all relationships better.

This book helped me to be able to understand how God intended us to behave/ treat each other. It has helped me to pull closer to God , and his word by helping me become able to change things in my life to forgive more, think before I speak, and help realize every body has troubles in relationships. It have given me even more compassion for every other human, not just the ones that look nice.

Helpful material

The material is very helpful and needed. I didn’t love the narrator. I think primarily because the audio quality was lacking. ‘S’ sounds came across as whistles in various parts. Other issues include audio skipping and repetition of phrases. It was like listening to a skipping cd at times.

Conflict resolution which is pleasing to God

The author presented his book well and highlighted material, scripture, and stories which convinced this Christian to continue seeking peace with others (as far as it depends on him). Ken Sande sticks to Jesus's words and the instruction and correction which comes from the whole of the bible. "Love one another" is a theme here, as is consulting Matthew chapter 18 for conflict in Christ's Body. Paul's heart shines forth as we strive to "overcome evil with good". Thank you, Ken!

A MUST READ for all!

This book was so well written, I could not stop listening. It’s hard to see how much we each contribute to conflict in our own lives but if we would all follow God‘s wisdom, there would be so much more love and happiness. This book does an amazing job at shining the light on things that we could do in our own lives and in our own relationships to better them while glorifying God.

Good standard Christian teaching on conflict and resolution but what about where there are power differentials or the church leadership are in sin?

Not the book

This audiobook is not a reading of the book. I like to have the audiobook going while I have the book in front of me. Unfortunately you can’t do that with this audiobook. It jumps around the chapter and misses parts out. It has the key information and if there wasn’t a book this is a great stand alone audiobook but I was caught off guard that it’s not a reading of the original book.
