Accomplished, gorgeous, and oh-so-caring, Lola has the best of everything - and doesn’t deserve any of it. So it’s only right that Ivy take it all away....

Terrible writing full of plot holes

The narrator chosen for the second act sounds really old, so I was then confused about the ages of the characters. Speaking of which the main character was 12 when her "life was ruined", That was 13 years prior to the time the story is being told making her 25, she then befriends a woman that is at least 10 years older than her, the woman narrating the second act is described as close in age to that woman but she sounds like my grandmother.
This book also glamourizes sex assault and misrepresents mental illness.
Overall it was difficult to finish but I kept holding up hope that it would surprise me at the end, it didn't. I had figured everything out less than half way through the story.

Such a fabulous job by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shanora Williams. This was my first book my Williams and it was so well done. Perfectly executed! I listened to this as an audiobook and really have to give the narrators a round of applause they also did amazing jobs. Chante Ellison & Nola Vance great job the both of you.

This story carries a lot of anger and that is why I chose the angry face emoji for my rating for this book. We know I always try to find the perfect emoji to fit the book I review and I felt this was perfect. The anger that all the characters felt was crazy. Ivy against Lola & Georgia and then Georgia against Lola. It was so hostile.

I could not believe the ending and was in complete shock! It was so well planned and well executed. Georgia wanted so long for her time to come that took some guts and lots of patience. You all need to read this amazing revengeful book right now! Go out and get it! Now I'll leave you with this awesome quote from the book.

"You are just a woman. A woman with hate in her heart and darkness in her soul. You hate yourself, so you take it out on everyone else. You are scorned. Broken. Pathetic. You will suffer at my hands. I will ruin you…and you won't even see me coming. " — Shanora Williams, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑹𝒖𝒊𝒏

Predictable but Not????

I didn't love this book, but I didn't hate it either. There was a plot twist which was interesting, but than it got a little ridiculous 🙄 If you're looking for a happy ending, this is not the one. I would suggest this if you want to read about some twisted shadyness.

Not a fan

Contains Spoilers:

I wanted to like this book, but I couldn’t. There’s just too many unbelievable aspects all the way through. Then towards the end when all hell breaks loose and the swears get to flowing like the booze does (lots of alcohol here and F bombs and a couple times even an appearance from the C word) - there’s a (TW) rape scene that gets quickly downplayed and the woman that goes through the trauma quickly becomes a rape apologist and makes excuses for the man at fault. That’s where I really just had had enough but I stuck with it because I wanted to hear more from Georgia, though she was the most likable by far, even she couldn’t save the ending and all of the overblown and unbelievable twists thrown at us.

This book's pace never slows down. I listen while on my daily power walks. This book motivated me on days I didn't really want to walk.

Predictable and terrible ending

Not very “thrilling” or surprising. The end was a disappointment and left the reader frustrated

why the ending?

It took a while to get into the story. I liked the plot but it dragged in some parts for me. I also wasn't expecting the ending and was disappointed.
