Don't chose this book.

I was hoping this would be an informative, insightful book.
First the narrator was irritating.
The story was put together in odd vignettes
If you want to know about Peter Lawford, then read Christopher Lawford's books.

Do not listen to this book

What disappointed you about The Peter Lawford Story?

I was looking forward to a book about his life, but got a very narrow, not entirely believable story by his last wife. She was in her early 20's and was married to him for only a few months before he died. It was so bad that I never finished it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Patricia Lawford Stewart and Ted Schwarz again?

Ted Schwarz was fine but Stewart's story seemed contrived and unbelievable.

Did Nancy Linari do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

She was not clear on anything and did a lot of "gossiping" without much believable look at any of the characters, including Peter Lawford himself.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

It was so bad, I stopped listening to the book in the middle, tried to finish it but finally just stopped listening. I would have preferred a book that told his whole story by someone who knew him well.

Interesting information, but very disjointed.

I thought the story was okay, but very disjointed and not very organized. Didn't really have a lot of information about the rat pack years.

Right around chapter 6

always liked Peter Lawford and the rat pack/kennedy connection but around chapter 6 was rooting for 1984 and his death to come faster so the book would be over. Might be the 2nd Pat never really got the good stories out of him because he was so gone by the time he started dating teenagers... thank goodness it was free.

Don’t waste your time

Nothing good to say about this one. Pathetic. Didn’t finish. Sad book and I’m sure no Kennedy or Lawford child approved anything in this book. Author is bitter about Kennedy’s. It’s easy to see why they have NOTHING to do with her! Move on...

Absolutely awful

The author is singularly self oriented and not remotely interesting, a sad partner for life exit.

I wanted a story about Peter Lawford

I got a story about his sex life, his marriages, his 4th wife, the actors and actresses of the time. It was like Peter Lawford was an after thought in a book about Peter Lawford.

Could not even finish listening, asked for a retur

The voice of the narrator was annoying, just her sound was like running nails on a chalk board. ,After listening for I minutes, I found the story choppy, and disconnected. I had to ask for a refund. Thats how bad it was. Nothing was auto biographical, it was like it was a bunch of hearsay stories trying to be a book.

A Mixed Bag

Any additional comments?

I nearly turned this audio book off after a few minutes as I did not like the reader or the fact that the writer (Peter's last wife) insisted on telling her life story. Luckily I did stay with it because it did get better. I enjoyed the details of 1940's Hollywood as well as the inside info on the Kennedy's, Rat-Pack and Marilyn Monroe. Unfortunately it does go down hill towards the end when the author again spends too much time telling her story again - I skipped about 2 hours at this point. So overall, not too bad.

One dimensional tabloid trashy tale.

The co author puts herself at the heart of this book. And frankly there is very little of interest about her. The rest of the Peter Lawford story has been cobbled from tales and reports made long before this author was on the scene. Opportunist telltale story.

The most depressing bio I've read in all long time

This is a miserable account of a collection of abused, immoral addicts who were revered household names and loved by many. It shatters all illusions about many of the 1950's and 60's stars of the day and no member of the Kennedy family escapes untarred. I can't imagine Patricia Lawford Stewart made many friends when this grim bio was published.

A real horror story

The sad story of two of the least sympathetic people you could ever hope not to meet.
Patricia tells us more about herself than her ex-husband - she’s very self obsessed - and he comes across as a total idiot. Horrifying.

Fallen Idol

Well written and well narrated. Hence I've given it all five stars. Not because I liked what I read.
The sad tale of this movie star who didn't stand a chance from the beginning. Childhood abuse.... used by Hollywood..... drugs..... alcohol..... sex. Sad, sad, sad life of this handsome actor who couldn't find a way out.

A mixed bag

There were several times I was going to give up
on this book , but continued as I wanted to hear what was said about Peter Lawfords relationship
with the Kennedys and Marilyn Monroe . Unfortunately, Marilyn was rather glossed over .
Patricia Lawford s description of her life with Peter
is a contradiction. It was horrific , but she was a willing collaborater who at times loved him dearly !
Other wives experiences would be interesting !
Hers, certainly does him no favours .
