Publisher's Summary
Fethering residents Jude and Carole get more than they bargained for when a meal in their local pub leaves everyone with food poisoning. The landlord is horrified, and when a series of disasters start to befall his business it looks like it could be the end of the road for the Crown and Anchor.
The two amateur detectives wonder if it might just be more than a run of bad luck. When a young man is found in the kitchen with a knife through his heart, Carole and Jude swing into action.
There's a killer on the loose, and our lady sleuths need to uncover who it is before it's last orders for the pub - and themselves.

Excellent
Another enjoyable romp with Jude and Carole. Good, easy listening and a gentle mystery to drift off to sleep with.

This was personal!
The emotions in this narrative set this book apart from the others... the relationship between the characters elevated it to another level. This is my favourite Fethering mystery so far!

Simon Brett is always easy on the ear.
Whenever I want something entertaining and undemanding, I go to my Simon Brett collection. Yes, he has a formula. Yes, it's fairly predictable. However, his characters become like 'friends' as I meander through The Feathering Mystery collection. The stories are classic whodunnits, and they always deliver. I have every Simon Brett book ever published in my library if that is any guide. Start from the beginning of each series if you are new to Simon Brett's work at the risk of stating the obvious.
The comfort food in the Audible pantry.
