Publisher's Summary

The Poker Stop-It List wasn't written by a mega pro. It was written by a fellow human who just loves (and now crushes) the game. I’m an established author. I created a blog followed by millions, as well as various books.

Over the years, my followers never knew that I had a secret life playing poker. I wrote about parenting, relationships, life, introspective topics, and shared lots of opinions and stories. My gift has always been putting complex concepts and human dynamics into words that others connect with and understand. So, why not do it with poker, too?

Many years ago, the nickname my opponents gave me was “Donkey Dan". I rightfully earned it. I was so bad at the game. I gave away endless money playing hyper-aggressively and having way too much fun.

But...

Losing hurts, especially when you lose repeatedly. I wanted to be a player who didn’t just start to win. I wanted to crush the game, and I dedicated myself to doing so. It took a few years, and a lot of study and self-reflection, but I finally did.

I must have read more than 50 poker books in those days, and in the end...I felt there was one very important book missing. You see, it did not matter how much I learned about the game, I was still somehow a losing player. It was only when I stopped focusing on the things I should do, and started focusing on the things I shouldn’t do, that my game really took off.

That’s what this audiobook is. It’s the audiobook I wish I would have had when I was first studying poker. I would have become a winning player exponentially faster.

Simply put, this audiobook lists the things you need to stop doing. Immediately. Doing that (and understanding why), have the power to take your game to a consistently winning level.

Poker is the hardest game in the world. I believe I was able to put poker concepts (and the human dynamics that go with it) into words that are so much easier to grasp. From one human to another, I hope this audiobook does incredible things for you and your game. Now, go and crush it.

Best words of wisdom from my best friend or my wiser future self.

With the understand that I’ve probably read maybe 10 to 12 books on poker, be it poker math, poker tells, poker strategy, you name it, I consider this the best one I’ve ever read. And one I will read over and over and over.

Previous books have tried to show me what I should do in certain scenarios. And granted, you must read those books. Those are things you do need to know.

In this book, Dan gives me solid advice on what to stop doing.

Whether it’s plays, words, attitudes or actions, Dan reminds me of things I already know that I shouldn’t be doing or things I had no idea I was doing.

Dan comes across as extremely sincere and only wanting the best for me. He reminds me of my much older big brother who wants the best for me or hopefully my future self coming back in time to tell me in a loving way to change my ways if I want to be the best I can be, and that I will get there.

I was in a tournament the other night ,not having completed this book yet, maybe halfway through and Dan’s words were playing in my head. And I played a lot better for it.

My sincerest thanks Dan for writing this book. I’m sure I’m going to owe you big-time!

Dave,
Donkey Dave that is!

Best Book Ever

this is my 37th poker audio book purchased. the other 35 many of them excellent helped me go from losing player to making 2000 to 3000 per month playing about 80 to 100 hours per month. after listening to the book completely passively I realized at least and extra 1000 in the first two weeks.this was accomplished by a combination of bets not made and bet I didn't make before so I went back and actively listened this time writing down each idea and notes.i have only played twice since this a 2 hour and 3 hour session winning 850 and 720 and this after tips and rake. I am over 70 so not the sharpest tool in the shed but I am confident my poker income will be zooming.
