Fun is the one thing Elsie Webb takes seriously. Though she'd be having a lot more of it if Haelstrom Media paid her enough to actually get out of debt. She's determined to hold out on contract negotiations for her kids' television show Fangley Heights until she gets what she deserves. There's only one problem, the head of the network just died and left her future more uncertain than ever. Forty-eight hours and one funeral—that's all Jones Haelstrom has to get through before she can return to her life in LA that's as ordered and sparse as an IKEA showroom.

Publisher's Summary
Johnnie Hamilton has conquered a lot in life. An anxiety disorder, loss of her business, and homelessness have been difficult to overcome. But Johnnie has come through the other side to find success as an artist. Now, however, she's lost her creative drive and she's struggling to produce.
Elaine Taylor has an interesting job. She's a “creative practitioner”, known to awaken her clients' creative side by using many different approaches, including a sensual or sexual approach. Most of her clients are male and she likes it that way. Women are the last thing she wants in her life, having lost the most important woman she's ever known, her wife.
Fearing she'll lose all she's worked so hard for, Johnnie takes her friend's advice and calls a lone number on a business card, steps into Elaine's office, and shakes up both their worlds forever.

loved it!
I really enjoyed this audiobook! if I could have, I would have finished it in one day (instead of two). so, there's a sexy artist who is in a rut, in need of... inspiration. the artist gets talked into trying a practitioner to help get those creative juices flowing again. there's an instant attraction for both women, but that's just the beginning. the story has sad moments and lots of soul searching/healing, and sex. this audiobook was much more than I expected. I will look up other books by this author.

On the fence with this book!
Overall, the book was decent. The premise was an interesting one to begin with, but I became exhausted with the book towards the last third of it. The characters had good depth and great chemistry up front, but seemed to wash out as the book went on. They went on a journey that seemed to not fit with the rest of the book and didn't make sense to me, almost like two different stories mashed together. The narrator, on the other hand, was fabulous! I could listen to her all day!

Uniquely Layered
This is the story that I keep coming back to. Yes, Brittni’s narration is fabulous, but it is the depth of the characters and their experiences that come across as so layered and definitely, so original. This book, while it does have great heat, is not your typical feel good story. It’s really real - almost too real for the genre. But that is what keeps me listening to it over and over again. It will always have a special place in my literature heart.

Much angst, little resolution
I don’t mind angst, especially when characters like these have so much to work through, but usually you can count on some resolution to satisfy after putting up with so much of it. Unfortunately this book is 90% will-they-won’t-they and the characters refusing to address their issues. After so much back and forth, I’d hoped to see the main characters finally stand up to their antagonists, but then the book ends without much actual addressing of those issues. Also: I grew up in Phoenix and it NEVER rains that much—even during monsoon season. So why is it always raining?? Everyone is always “wet” or “damp”. The desert is dry, just FYI. On the bright side, the sex scenes were hot as an Arizona summer.

Love Conquers All
This is one of the most frustratingly wonderful stories I have experienced. For years movies and literature have successfully offered romances where obstacle after obstacle are placed in front of two people who the audience knows from the moment they meet are truly meant for each other.
I have to admit, there were occasions when I grumbled, asking myself”what could possibly happen next?” and you may do the same, but the eventual resolution is worth the wait.
The two main characters are broken, so, this is not only a love story but a tale of healing both heart and soul.
Maybe it can help you heal too. Enjoy.

holy hell, it's a GREAT listen
all I can say is the story coupled with the sweet sultry voice is bone melting and guaranteed to make you melt. you will not regret your decision to listen. it's a story that has it all: back story, love, pain and hot women.
I've found it difficult to find books that are all around wonderful. great story line and great sex scenes in the same book with characters that you bleed for is a tall order but this one fits the bill.
