Story
Arthur W. Pink gets right to the point in this brief but beneficial book. To pray correctly, Christians need clarity, and this book delivers. Pink said it well: “We need something better than that which is of mere human origin to guide us if we are to perform aright this essential duty.” This book assists the modern disciple to better understand the Lord’s Prayer taught to those first disciples long ago.

Story
With nearly 200,000 copies sold in its 25 years, Chosen by God by Dr. R. C. Sproul is a contemporary classic on predestination, a doctrine that isn't just for Calvinists, says Sproul. It is a doctrine for all biblical Christians. In this updated and expanded edition of Chosen by God, Sproul shows that the doctrine of predestination doesn't create a whimsical or spiteful picture of God but paints a portrait of a loving God who provides redemption for radically corrupt humans.

Story
How did the world arrive at its current, disorienting state of identity politics, and how should the church respond? Historian Carl R. Trueman discusses how influences ranging from traditional institutions to technology and pornography moved modern culture toward an era of “expressive individualism.” Investigating philosophies from the Romantics, Nietzsche, Marx, Wilde, Freud, and the New Left, he outlines the history of Western thought to the distinctly sexual direction of present-day identity politics and explains the modern implications of these ideas.

Story
No person in history has provoked such widely divergent assessments as Jesus of Nazareth. Some say He was a cunning fraud, while others say He must have been out of His mind. In many cases, His story is altered to suit the fancies of those seeking to make Him an ally for a host of militant causes. However, as Dr. R.C. Sproul points out in this Crucial Questions audiobook, there is compelling evidence that Jesus was something more - that He was, in fact, God in the flesh.

Story
During Jesus' earthly ministry, one of the primary ways he would instruct his disciples was through parables. People would gather from far and wide in order to listen to what Jesus said about the kingdom of God, and the most common way he would explain the kingdom was in parables. But what does God want us to learn from these parables? In this series, Dr. R.C. Sproul examines several parables of Jesus, exploring the rich truths they reveal about who Jesus is and what he came to achieve through his life, death, and resurrection.

Story
In this book of pastoral reflections, N. T. Wright explores how the Lord's Prayer sums up what Jesus was all about in his first-century setting. Wright locates the Lord's Prayer, clause by clause, within the historical life and work of Jesus and allows the prayer's devotional application to grow out of its historical context. The result is a fresh understanding of Christian spirituality and the life of prayer. This deeply devotional book will refresh and stimulate the heart and mind of any listener.

"Our Father, who art in heaven...." The opening words of the Lord's Prayer have become so familiar that we often speak them without a thought, sometimes without any awareness that we are speaking at all. But to the disciples who first heard these words from Jesus, the prayer was a thunderbolt, a radical new way to pray that changed them and the course of history. Far from a safe series of comforting words, the Lord's Prayer makes extraordinary claims, topples every earthly power, and announces God's reign over all things in heaven and on earth.

Publisher's Summary
What is the Lord's Prayer? In The Prayer of the Lord, Dr. R.C. Sproul writes that Jesus' intent was to give his disciples a model prayer, an example to follow, one that would teach them transferrable principles for conversation with God. In short, Christ gave the Lord's Prayer to teach his disciples about prayer, and Dr. Sproul, in his trademark fashion, brings out many of the truths Christ intended for his followers to learn.
Listeners will learn how not to pray, then will be led into a deeper understanding of such topics as the fatherhood of God, the kingdom of God, the will of God, the nature of sin and forgiveness, the dangers of temptation, and the cunning of Satan. The final chapter includes questions and answers on various aspects of prayer not covered elsewhere in the book, and the appendix addresses the difficult question of the relationship of God's sovereignty and prayer. The Prayer of the Lord is an eye-opening journey, one that reveals new vistas in familiar terrain.

Great book on prayer!
This is a fantastic book on prayer. Very Biblically based with solid doctrine. When I was shopping for books on this topic, all books on prayer seemed so self focused. This book was refreshing because it focused more on God and His word not our needs and desires.
