Publisher's Summary

Joseph is the pampered favorite son of the patriarch Jacob. His older brothers, deeply resentful of his status in the family, take advantage of the chance to get rid of him, selling him to slave traders and deceiving their father about his fate. It seems like their troubles are over. But for Joseph and older brother Judah, they are just beginning.

While Joseph is accused of rape and imprisoned, Judah attempts to flee the memory of his complicity in the betrayal of his younger brother. After decades apart, the brothers will come face-to-face in a stunning role reversal that sees Joseph in a position of great power while Judah begs for mercy. Will forgiveness or vengeance win the day?

Best-selling and award-winning author Jill Eileen Smith brings her considerable research and imaginative skills to bear in this vivid retelling of one of the most popular stories found in Scripture - a story of jealousy, betrayal, and a reconciliation that only God could bring about.

Excellent, and one request

The story and the narration are most excellent. Jill Eileen Smith has done a marvelous job weaving this story together from Scripture.
I have one request of the sound tech... when whispering occurs, please balance out the sound so that we don't have to backtrack, turn up our volume and listen again in order to know what was said. Thank you.

Excellent Retelling

I remember the first time I heard Rachel Botchan, seeing so many complaints in reviews. My only concern was pronunciation of a few words. Now I've heard several books she has narrated and have only grown to appreciate her reading with each one. Great job!!

As to the story, Jill Eileen Smith has done the most excellent retelling of Joseph's story that I've ever heard, and with my love of biblical stories, there are many. Joseph is fleshed out in ways I've always seen him in my imagination. This is also the first time I've seen Judah's story juxtaposed against Joseph's timeline as Scripture shows it should be. Fantastic!!

I was completely entertained and loved the story telling. I thought it gave respect to holy things without being preachy which is hard to do.

Well Done Story - Best Narrator!

Loved this interpretation of a true story. I have listened to well over a 100 Audibles and Rachel Botten is by far my favorite.
