Well Rounded.

I found the layout of the book quite helpful:

Chapter 1 talks about the aviation industry.
Chapter 2 & 3 is concerned with the entire requirements (medical, costs, etc.) of getting a PPL.
Chapter 4 talks about choosing the right instructor and school (VERY IMPORTANT!).
Chapter 5 is regarding selecting the right aircraft for getting your license (Cessna, Piper, Cirrus, etc.).
Chapter 6 & 7 speaks to best practices when preparing for your exams (Knowledge and Checkride).
Chapter 8 is Aviation terminology and definitions.
Chapter 9 & 10 are concerned with actual test questions you’ll have to answer correctly to pass the exams.

Overall, it’s a much more realistic structure than other books on the market that just jump right into test questions. I like how the author made it all encompassing for people with PPLs and those considering it. Well Rounded.

Worth Every Penny.

I personally liked how this book was laid out. As someone that is considering getting a PPL, it really helped me a lot. It doesn’t get into the meat of technicalities right away, rather the author takes the time to talk about the aviation industry, in terms of its history and various professions, salaries and prospects, etc. This is better than spending hours on Google trying to get this information!

If you are brand new and looking into becoming a pilot (like my self), then this book is for you. But even for those that already have a PPL, they will also benefit from the overall structure of the book.

Glad I picked it up!

What I greatly enjoyed about the book, is that it breaks down the cost and time factor. A lot of newbies for the PPL don’t realize how EXPENSIVE getting a PPL is! Thanks to the author for including this, as other books don’t mention this at all and omit this important part of the process.

Solid Information.

Cons: There is maybe around 30 seconds of missing audio in the first few chapters (see the PDF).
Pros: Chapter 10 is chalk full of solid practice questions.

Beneficial and Realistic.

Where this book excels is the fact that it keeps everything simple and straightforward. It covers all aspects of the PPL from A to Z. So it’s definitely more geared for an individual that is just starting out, not necessarily for an expert. Still, I think it’s 5-star quality.
