Story
Three top secret research scientists are presumed dead in a boating accident, but the kidnapping of their families the same day raises questions the FBI and local police can't answer, leaving them waiting for a ransom demand that will never come. Central Intelligence Agency analyst Chris Leroux stumbles upon the story, and finds a phone conversation that was never supposed to happen. When he reports it to his boss, the national clandestine services chief, he is uncharacteristically reprimanded for conducting an unauthorized investigation and told to leave it to the FBI.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

The cause of death is unknown to all aside from Jonas, and his lone companion, Bubbles, a sarcastic AI with aspirations to be more human, or a serial killer. One of the two. Maybe both. He is plagued by PTSD, finding solace, but not redemption, with the aid of prescribed cannabis. All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. Promising New Series
If you’re reading this review to see if the book is worth a credit, let me help:
1. Do you like most or all of the books you’ve heard RC Bray narrate? If so, buy this book. It’s consistent with your favorite Bray-related books.
2. Did you like one or more Indian Jones books/movies? If so, you’ll love this book.
3. Do you like books involving military and/or spec ops teams written by someone that has done sufficient enough research to get the lingo correct? If so, you’ll like this book.
4. Are you looking for a new series to dive into? This is it.
Action-packed; great character development; a unique, intriguing plot; secret societies with reach into the most powerful levels of government; a bit of romance (but not too much); and a handful of heroes to root for.
I can’t wait for book two.
Definitely worth a credit

Wow, what a ride... from the mountains of Peru to the English countryside J. Robert Kennedy leads you through a maze of action and intrigue. Rich characters are found throughout and the author brings you right beside them as they live and die (ouch). A great story with shades of "The Da Vinci Code", I HIGHLY recommend this book. Add to a fantastic story the unbelievable talent(s) of J.C. Bray and a you have a winner.

Alittle far fetched
If your out of thing to read then worth it. Or you just want a fast paced action packed book this will do just fine.
For me
In places it was just to much. In others it was great. Best to take if your not bothered about in-depth characters. Plot lines that are far fetched. For instance there is a black ops soldier who by the end of the books becomes a Apache attack helicopter pilot. A professor who uses to be in the National Guard. Some how was an expert at escape and evade?
R C Bray was brilliant as always and drags you though the story as only he can.
I dont think I will be paying for anymore of this series unless I can get more then one book for one purchase.

Worth it, go buy it.
I loved it, cant beat R C Bray! I just traveled to many places and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have read/listened to a few Dan Browns, and I think this is far better. Writer and Narrator is a great combination. The plot is fast and well paced, characters well written. A combination of Dan Brown / sort of Indiana Jones but far far better.
I did win this book on a FB page, a bonus! but I would have purchased the book, being a fan of the great Bray anyway. Well worth the credit. Highly recommend you get the book, you wont be disappointed.
