In my defense, I was left alone with a bottle of single-malt and a lifelong penchant for protecting my baby sister. Still, that's no excuse to send 10 drunk-texts on why her hasty marriage would be a mistake. If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman. I also used the phrase “super hot wingman”, so I’d like to die now.

When his mother became president, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius - his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, US/British relations take a turn for the worse. Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

I spent college worrying about responsibilities and earning my teaching degree, so before graduation and moving to Atlanta with my best friend, Ross, I figure I deserve a little fun. I’ve never been with an older man, but the guy at the bar grabs my attention and doesn’t let go…for multiple rounds, all night long. The next day, when Ross introduces me to his dad, the last thing I expect is for him to be my hookup from the night before, in town from Atlanta for his son’s graduation. The best thing would be to pretend it never happened, which is easier said than done.

That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. It started out as a little fun. When there was a man in my building on a hookup app, why not message him? Only we didn’t meet. We just texted - one night after the other, after the other. GoodWithHisHands was the perfect escape from my life, where pressure was always on my shoulders: my father’s expectations, the worry about my sister, Maddy, getting sick again, and her ex-husband, Ryder Lynwood, suddenly back and volunteering at the same hospital as me. I like talking to him, the same way I enjoy chatting with GoodWithHisHands. They weren’t supposed to be the same person.

Publisher's Summary
Matt Lancaster is the star quarterback at Bodine College, a small Southern Division II school with an ultra-conservative dean of athletics. Matt is also very much in the closet, and he thinks he’s kept his secret well hidden, until his best friends take him to a happy endings massage parlor and request a male masseuse for him.
In walks Trevor Kim, a gorgeous, pierced, tattooed fellow Bodine student who does massages - without happy endings - to pay for school after his family kicked him out for being gay. Trevor takes one look at Matt and breaks all his own rules about mixing business with pleasure.
Matt needs to keep his scholarship, win the National Championship, and survive his asshole father. Instead, he falls in love. Trevor needs to accept that the football god is meant to end up with him rather than a perky cheerleader. It’s time for a "happily ever after" for both of them.

Perfection! Just the right mix of everything
It's not often I want to give 5 stars. Usually, something slightly annoying prevents it, not this time. Some may argue the story is too perfect and I would counter and say "things can work out in this cynical world we live in". No new territory covered here, but the cast of characters have almost equal voices in Matt and Trevor's story. Friends behave like friends and people in love behave like people in love.
I think you would be hard-pressed to find something wrong with this story. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I really enjoyed this book. I picked it up on sale on Audible just because and I am pleasantly surprised. First time I've listened to this author's work but not the narrator, I really enjoy the narrator so it was an easy choice. Trevor and Matt were great, they had a god connection with lots of chemistry. I loved that they were on the DL throughout most of the book, not really hiding, but more just private. They told who needed to know like their close friends and family, for me that was sweet and still gave their love story a little excitement too. The ending was sweet with a great HEA!
I will be checking out more audiobook by this author for sure.

Surprisingly good
Being my first book in this category I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It is well-written and the performance is superb.
The story is captivating and a happy ending (no pun intended).
A major highlight of the book are the peripheral characters that give the story more depth and character.

So much fun! Funny, angsty (goodness the angst!), and just plain adorable—I highly enjoyed this book. The narrator did a fantastic job as always, and I can’t wait to see what Mackenzie Lee comes up with next. Hopefully a sequel/ spin-off for some of the supporting characters?? *Cough*cough* Drew *cough* *cough* O’Donnell.

Great!
I've read MANY gay sports romances, some better than others. This one is the one I believe captures the struggle in the most convincing way. It's a sexy story but still full of emotion and tenderness. I was disappointed that this book was not available to add to my Amazon fire eBook collection and found that this is the only book written so far by the writer, but i will definitely keep my eyes peeled for more. It should also be mentioned that the narration is excellent, he acts out the scenes dynamically and effectively. Thumbs up all around!

Mostly good
Matt is closeted college QB. Trevor is out but working too many jobs including a massage gig that provides happy endings. Freakouts ensue.
Mostly, it was a nice story with good pacing and great, supportive friends, including some football teammates. Family is a mixed bag. Matt’s father is problematic in multiple ways and Matt can’t afford to upset him or the dean at his Southern school. Trevor seesaws on whether or not he’s ok with keeping their relationship on the down low. And this is where I have a concern.
Trevor gets all antsy about Matt being closeted multiple times & sometimes right before big games. Causing scenes right before prominent life events is abusive behavior. Trevor mostly pulls through and gets less snippy with Matt in time to matter, but it happens more than once so that concerns me. OTOH, they’re both new to relationships & each have several stressors that seem to come to a head around big events so maybe that won’t be a future issue? It is not selfish to stay closeted when it’s too unsafe to come out. This book dealt a good bit with how their friends & family made being out more safe or less safe.
Trigger Warning & spoiler for:
violent confrontation with a father &
silent treatment from a mother. /spoiler
My other quibble, combined with the problematic timing of Trevors mostly unfair, if understandable, “come out already” snits is about the massage gig. Trevor was a sex worker and the author skirted around that in a weaselly way. Like Trevor only did service X with Matt, but not for other clients. Maybe? But then he quit after acknowledging that he was a sex worker and it seemed to me that he quit from the shame of it. He didn’t stay on as legit masseuse only or go back to his previous “up to but not including X” limits. The shame threw me out of the story. There was no need for it. Sex work is work. It’s a job that often pays better than the alternatives which is partly why he took the job. I would have been ok with Trevor quitting because: he wanted exclusivity with his boyfriend; his schedule didn’t make sense that semester; the transit time got in the way; his car got totaled; he didn’t like massaging any more; it didn’t pay enough with changed personal limits; he risked exposure for Matt; or several other reasons. But shame for being paid for doing a job? Stop it.
But generally, there was a surprising amount of support for our heroes thus things often went more smoothly than they (or I) had feared. There was attention paid to secondary characters, setting, & football games from the perspective of players, fans, & non-fans. I’m not a football enthusiast (I side with the tight pants on athletes enthusiasts) and there was not too much football for me. But there was probably still enough of it for a football fan.
The sexytimes are often about virgin Matt figuring out how things work & both of them exploring potential roles and low key kinks. It’s mostly well done.
I came close to rating this 5 stars. The narrator (GB) did a good job with expressing the given vocal cues and not making either guy sound effeminate, which they were not. Worth a listen in you like stories of hot college athletes and math geeks navigating being gay in private then in public as they figure their lives & loves out.

Massage fun?!
I put this one off for awhile because happy ending massage parlors are not something I find particularly sexy.
That being said I think I forgot that was the start of this book 3 hours in and it became a NA adorable sports romance that was really rather good. (Also it doesn’t hurt that the massage parlor scene was rather sweet and not creepy at all). I really rather enjoyed this book a lot. Top 10 mm sports romance books for sure.
The narration was fantastic I’m going to look into more of Greg Boudreaux and Mackenzie Blair’s work I the future

Is the story groundbreaking? Definitely not but good narration and a perfectly enjoyable listen, it kept me company on a lazy Sunday of painting.
The book reminds me of watching a chick flick you know it won't win any awards but its tried and tested storylines are comforting since you know you're going to get your happy ending. Its also low in angst despite some of the storylines having room for it they aren't overly developed as in some other stories of the genre I have read or listened to.
i know this doesn't sound like the most enthusiastic review but I really did enjoy it as an easy listen, which is the exact kind of escapism I'm after at the moment. So if thats the kind of thing you're in the mood for within this genre I would recommend.

Superb read
I would sincerely recommend this book to everyone!
It has been a brilliant listen to me, so much so that I hope that the author has plans to write another very soon indeed! It's been a good way to pass the time during the COVID & it's period of many variants when I have been terrified to go out as I serious damage to my right lung as the result of a very serious block clot. I need books as good as this one to fill my time!

adorable and funny as hell
I highly recommend it! The characters are very likable, the story of sweet with a lot of funny and hot moments. I could actually feel their attraction and understood why they chose each other. The story is super entertaining, and it ends as strong as it starts.
It quickly became one of my favorite M/M books ever.
also... Drew is fuuuucking awesome!
Only annoying thing is Danielle... dear God, I can't stand women like her who pushes people to do what she wants, gets into people's lives, destroys relationships and without even saying sorry she's all forgiven because she says sexually harassment compliments then it's all good.
And Greg did a marvelous job with every single character!! 👌👌👌👌👌👌

I could not care less
In my opinion the characters were shallow and the plot was boring. I like more showing and less telling. Describe some feelings, maybe. It would make better sex scenes, for one.
The narrator could not make it thrilling either, so he stuck with bland, making the experience dull.
One more note: with 'overall' I rated the sound quality. This was recorded with very low quality equipment.

Usually I don't go for college aged characters, but Matt and Trevor both have old heads on their young shoulders, for very different reasons. Yes Matt comes from money, but there are strings attached. Yes Trevor has suffered after being rejected by his family, but he is pulling himself upwards now.
I loved how things develop between these two! Not just how they initally get together, but how things move along between them, physically as well as emotionally.
This is the first of Blair's work I've listened to, indeed, read so I would like to read or listen to more now!
Greg Boudreaux narrates and the man is a MASTER at his craft! His voices for everyone are easily indentifiable when listening to multi person conversations. The reading voice Boudreaux uses is deep and even and there were no dips or bits I missed when Matt or Trevor got emotional or were thinking (a common theme, trust me!)
4 stars for the book
5 for the narration (cos, you know, Greg!)

A Good True to Life Story based on facts
A well witten story by the author who brings to light the reality of prejudice and injustices faced by gay men. The struggles gay men face personally, in the home, work place and friend and social gatherings. Eveny in this modern day of sexual liberation old morals and prejudices remain.

Nice read
Exactly what it says on the tin. A gay romance novel as steamy as it is touching. Well performed by the narrator.

I really enjoyed listening to this book!! Greg Boudreaux did an amazing job narrating. There is a great balance between trouble, character and relationship growth, great supporting characters, and ALL the feels - lots of great humour too!! Highly recommend you listen to this if you enjoy the college, journeys of acceptance and identity, romance style stories.

Made Me Laugh
Oh, man. If Trevor and Matt aren't the absolute cutest. Absolutely loved the story but MAN the side characters just were the icing on the cake. I wish Drew had a story! He's so freaking funny. Definitely well worth it. One to remember for sure. <3

Thoroughly enjoyed this sporting romance!
I’m always a sucker for a sports romance, even though they inevitably focus on one or both of the main characters bravely coming out to their ambivalent team and to huge media interest and controversy. Although the clichés are getting tired, I liked the two main characters. They attend a Baptist university in Alabama where Trevor, an out Asian-American accounting student falls for star quarterback and environmental science student, Matt. I liked their backstories. Trevor has been kicked out of home after coming out while Matt has an aggressive, pious and homophobic father. I liked the plot. The guys fall for each other early on, spend time hiding their relationship, and have to deal with scrutiny on Matt and the team’s sporting fortunes. 🎧 Greg Boudreaux gave an amazingly good performance, he effortlessly injected emotion and pathos into the story and the characters.
