Publisher's Summary

The true story of London's toughest, deadliest street gangs: the events, the rules and the real top boys.

Are the streets of London some of the deadliest in the world?

What's the truth behind the headlines?

And who are the real top boys?

The Real Top Boys reveals the lives of the street gangs who have taken over, and now rule, dozens of corners of the UK's capital.

Best-selling true-crime author Wensley Clarkson takes us on a tour of the housing estates and volatile neighbourhoods where pride, rivalry and revenge are the codes people live and die by. He talks to the criminals who have helped create this chilling modern-day underworld and recounts the vicious turf wars that changed the map, unravels the rules and rights of the streets, and charts the rise and fall of many of the game's key players over the decades that have transformed the city.

Featuring interviews with real-life gangsters and told in a gripping story that lays bare the hard life in this world, The Real Top Boys is the ultimate account of gang life in London and a jaw-dropping look at who really runs the streets.

worst thing I've ever listened to

bored after 10 minutes.
accents are cringe
questionable references to white drug dealers as 'professional' gangsters and Jamaican drug dealers as dangerous criminals...
wondering how to request my credit back..

The author spends half the time going on about top boy tv show. Save your money and just watch the series on Netflix

A window into hell.

There are so many disturbing accounts here, most of which exist out of the sight and mind of the general public.
A damning social comment on the way money, power and the desire to escape, overlook and destroy the lives of many innocent (predominantly young) people.
A good but distressing listen.

Enjoyed the series, now enjoyed the book

What I found refreshing, is really fact he used real stories and people, just changed their name, after seeing the series and blue story too, wanted to read about them also, loved both the series, film and the book.......hard to stop listening continuously

Awful

Could’t even listen to an hour of it. Literally seems to be a book that is describing films and tv shows we love badly.

Ruined by awful accents

I gave up with this hook, I tried to keep going but gave up after an hour of listening. Its ruined by the
dreadful accents that the narrator keeps talking in.
