In prospective, long-term research with over 700 couples, Gottman has discovered certain factors that distinguish happy, stable couples from both unstable, ultimately divorcing couples and stable but unhappy couples. These findings, which are explained here in understandable, nontechnical language, form the basis of his Sound Marital House theory of marriage, which guides the new therapy. This therapy has two goals: changing the marital friendship and teaching couples to regulate conflict.

Heralded by the New York Times and Time as the couples therapy with the highest rate of success, Emotionally Focused Therapy works because it views the love relationship as an attachment bond. This idea, once controversial, is now supported by science, and has become widely popular among therapists around the world. In Hold Me Tight, Dr. Sue Johnson presents Emotionally Focused Therapy to the general public for the first time. Johnson teaches that the way to save and enrich a relationship is to reestablish safe emotional connection and preserve the attachment bond.

Publisher's Summary
Nowadays, we live in a world based on communication. Communication is “...creating and sharing meaning...” or “...a symbolic process of creating, nurturing, reforming and transforming reality...”.
With this in your mind, are you able to analyze the communication process in your relationships? Do you know that the key, for a successful or unsuccessful relationship, lies in the communication process?
All of us are subject to this unwritten law, so that, if we are smart, we should try to study, analyze, and improve our communication’s skills.
This audiobook focuses exactly on this: it deeply analyzes all kind of communications and it gives a concrete solution to the most common mistakes of communication. It will also give you a valid method to improve communication in your relationship.
Another important aspect is non-verbal communication, which includes, for example:
- Expression;
- Physical exercise and posture;
- Eye contact;
- Touch;
- Space;
- Gestures.
This kind of communication sometimes reveals more than a verbal one, so we have to learn how to correctly interpret it.
Communication is not just a natural skill, as many of us think. It should be learned and developed, by talking and listening to the people we love.
Are you curious? Do you want to learn how to live a happy and satisfactory relationship, with your husband or with your wife? You can gain the key, by getting this audiobook, now!

The author did a great job. I highly recommend this book if you have trouble opening up and finding the words to express yourself to your spouse. It may seem common sense to some people, but they have some really good questions to ask yourself and your spouse to make for a better relationship. Really a great book. Thanks Writer !!

Don’t waste your time
I got this seeing it had 5 stars.... why?? I only got through the first 25 minutes and had to quit. The narrator is robotic and there’s no feeling behind the reading. I feel like I’m listening to Siri read a book. And it’s all just generic advise like “don’t yell at each other.” Literally nothing helpful and awful to listen to. I would recommend listening to any other book.

Book maybe alright but narration is terrible
I think the book is probably ok but it is narrated very robotically and has bizarre repetition of some words and phrases through. I’m not sure if that is translation errors and narrated incorrectly but the whole listening experience was quite difficult and at times irritating. Would not recommend…
