Publisher's Summary

Adventurers never die, they just fade away.

They called him Sven, the Shatterfist. One of a group of heroes who fought the Demon Lord Mannon. He's finally returned home.

But for Sven, after returning from abroad, life isn't what it used to be. Adventuring isn't what it used to be. Things have changed. Something is different.

The obvious next step? Retire. Settle down. Start his own tavern. Drink with magic girls.

Maybe not in that order.

I couldn't listen long to this.

I like the premise of the book but the narrator kept pausing before every weapon or spell name like the editors cut a clip of each word and pasted them in when they came up making it sound the same. It bothered my ears so much I couldn't keep listening to it. I'm just going to read the book instead.

Narration was terrible

The worst preformance by sierra kline I have heard. I dont see why every other word is prononced like they are written in caps.

the constant pausing and going into that blank that kind of form it's kind of annoying it pulls me out of the book

Narrator unnecessary pause

It's a good story but the narrator will do this pause where you can hear the air quotes, but just for some objects, spells, or attack moves. Other then that good narration

Terrible

I really wanted to like this book it had a lot of promise and I sadly only go to chapter 3 and gave up. The narrator was good until it sounded like they used some type of macro and pasted voiced phrases and it so off putting that I couldn’t bare it. I’ll give it a chance with the book.

Poor narrative

Poor choice of spin on Narration. consistent pausing before weapons or attacks. completely ruins the immersion.

Even better on audio.

I read this book. Heck, I read the next one too. I loved the story and this time I was able to listen to the adventure while at work. It helped my day go by that much faster and I thoroughly enjoyed the narration being brought to life. Would recommend 10/10

couldn't make it very far at all

I might try reading this one when I have time but I'm not into the narration. People mentioned the weird pauses and I should have listened, also just generally the way she reads puts me to sleep, very soothing voice, like she is constantly reading an epilogue or some kind of distant flashback

good story, meh narrator

had to stop Halfway through chapter 2, audio cut and paste is really bad, sounds like there where a lot of places cut and edited instead of redoing the paragraph or sentence, but good story concept will be buying and reading on Kindle.

great narrator, loved the story, wish it was a bit longer. Old tropes with new motivations
