Publisher's Summary

Seduction hotter than stolen jewels in this new series from the New York Times bestselling author of Big Rock.

Bounty hunter Jake Harlowe knows how to track a criminal. So when a group of swindled shareholders hire him to trail their former CEO, Jake expects a quick trip to the Cayman Islands to close another case. Until a devastatingly beautiful woman gets in the way.

Steph Anderson is visiting the Caymans for a rock climbing and dive trip - or so she tells Jake. She's really trying to find out whether or not her stepfather embezzled money from his company. The last thing Steph needs is the distraction of a sexy, charming man whose kisses drive her wild.

Soon, the pair discover they're after the same target - and millions in jewels. While Jake can't be certain Steph isn't working for her stepfather, and Steph can't be certain Jake isn't after the diamonds for himself, they can agree the heat between them is intense, and neither can deny the passion for long.

But the morning after, Steph discovers that she just might have slept with the enemy, and now she'll have to outwit him to get everything she needs....

Cliffhanger

Sebastian York is the narrator, enough said. The story is entertaining, however the book ends with a "to be continued". I find that offensive to me as a consumer, I did not get a complete product.

A True Gem!

Wow! This was my first Lauren Blakely story, and I was really impressed! The characters and plot were both well thought out, and developed.

Jake's character was smart, caring, and hot! I loved he was great at his job, and serious about taking care of his family. When he meets the confident, but cautions Steph, the chemistry between them was instant, and the flirty banter was heated and sexy. While they didn't trust each other, they teamed up to investigate Steph's stepfather, and the mystery regarding the "alleged" embezzled money. However, with each new meeting, encounter, and kiss, more fuel is added to their growing attraction for each other, and the sexual tension between them reaches combustible levels!

The narration was fantastic! Sebastian York has a great voice, and does an excellent projecting the different emotions throughout story!

But, ho, boy! The cliffhanger! Oh, It's a good thing I've already decided to get book two as soon as it is released, as well as checking out other stories by Lauren Blakely......so I guess I can live with the cliffhanger...... even if it is a very suspenseful cliffhanger!

Awesome story, and Kindle Unlimited deal!

1/2 a book. Not fair

This story is off to a good start but ends abruptly. I enjoy the author normally but only when series books are complete books. This was 1/3 to 1/2 a book and had a slow start. I would rather pay a bit more and have a complete story because this just stops when the story is getting interesting. It leaves the reader unsatisfied. I'll be more careful purchasing one of these again.

Half a story

Any additional comments?

This was only half a story and not satisfying at all, Even the half I listened to was just OK. I won't waste my time continuing with this series.

Sexxxy!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Sapphire Affair to be better than the print version?

Um, lemme think... YES! Sebastian York could read a text book and it would sound sexy.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that I "get" the authors sense of humor. I am a huge fan, and this book did not dissappoint.

Have you listened to any of Sebastian York’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and my only thought about how this could have been better was that I wish it were a dual or duet narration. I've listened to him by himself and with other voice actors, and he never dissappoints.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Boom chicka bow wow!

Any additional comments?

Nope. It's a sexy romantic comedy. With a heist... enough said! I'm looking forward to book 2!

Part 1- Wish I would have known.

I loved what was in this Part. I hate when I don't know there are parts. I prefer to wait for the whole book to be published. Love an author who is confident in their work.

Cliffhanger!!!

I hate when they don't tell you it's a series.
Was very slow moving and I hate to say it wasn't that great.
Normally her books are good.
The only thing that saved the book was Sebastian York, narrator.

IT JUST ENDS?! WTF

I hate that this book just end so abruptly. I've never complained about a books Cliffhanger ending before, when others have complained that a book is a cliffhanger I've never agreed. Ive always just felt like it kind of just found and ending points and stopped on a high note. However this book to me is a true Cliffhanger book to the point where I was cussing out loud about the books painfully abrupt ending.

disappointing

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Shame on Lauren Blakely. I wish authors would stop breaking up stories into multiple books to make more $$$.

Has The Sapphire Affair turned you off from other books in this genre?

This book was not interesting enough/exciting enough for me to buy the second book.

Which character – as performed by Sebastian York – was your favorite?

Sebastian Yorks voice is sexy

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

If the author had completed the story in one book it would have been better.

Any additional comments?

Readers are getting fed up with the whole series/trilogy BS.

Don't bother, waste of time and money

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

So terrible I was frustrated. Sebastian's voice is the only reason I finished it. I don't mind cliffhangers that much as long as I feel I have gotten something out of it, but this was ridiculous.

Which scene was your favorite?

None

An Excellent Story (So Far)

Part One of this 'romance on the job' has had me hooked from very early on. Another excellent story line from Lauren Blakely and performed brilliantly by Sebastian York. I don't want to give anything away as it is a two-parter! You'll just have to read it yourself, but I would definitely recommend this book!!

Feel cheated as ends on cliffhanger

I hoped book was whole story even though I saw it had more than one in series but this doesn’t even end at end of a story - more at end of chapter in which I’m disappointed. Apart from that I had been enjoying it so far....

Wow

Loved this story of love, mystery and a desire so strong they both couldn’t fight. Can’t wait to read part two.
Narration was awesome too, with the King of Audio reading it all.

Can't wait to listen to The Sapphire Heist

I was thrilled to find The Sapphire Affair in KU, especially as both the ebook and audiobook could be borrowed. Bonus - the narrator is Sebastian York, I one-clicked The Sapphire Affair AND The Sapphire Heist, very happy to be able to borrow both.

The Sapphire Affair was so good to listen to, I really enjoyed the mystery surrounding the stolen money and diamonds. Steph and Jake are both visiting the Cayman Islands for the same reasons - unbeknown to them both when they first meet . They soon decide to work together to solve their common goal, to track down the diamonds they believe Steph's stepfather Eli has hidden and to steal them back.

The Sapphire Affair was just getting really good when it ended, lucky I have The Sapphire Heist ready to go. I can't wait to see what happens next with both Jake and Steph's relationship AND the diamonds.

Boring

Unfortunately this book just didn't grab me at all. I did keep listening right to the end as I usually love the books read by Sebastian York. Sadly I just didn't care about the characters or what was going on in the story.
Just a big old Meh!
