Worst narration made for unpleasant listening

Great compendium of classic scifi, but the narration was terrible. From incorrect pronunciation, to stilting narrators, to background noises (airplanes? Lawn mower?), I just could not get into it. I'm going to mark this as read and toss it into the "what a let down" category. Seriously, save your credit and go for something that will entertain you better.

Quantity doesn’t make quality

This is a large collection of science fiction much of which doesn’t stand the test of time. I found myself unwilling to finish so many of the stories that I stopped trying. Perhaps as a book I could be more selective. The audio format, especially in a car, doesn’t allow that.

Very poor

Although some of the stories MAY have been good I could not listen to them because of ABYSMAL "narrators" and, to make matters worse, I was not allowed to return the damned thing!!!!!

Very poor production

The production quality of this audio book is very bad. The speakers are poor - some very poor - and there are frequent verbal errors, repeats and bad pronunciations. There are even errors like the chapters being in the wrong order and there is absolutely no means to navigate - no menu - nothing, just 309 "chapters". I was quite interested in listening to some of the old classic stories but the bad presentation made them boring and stayed. I fast forwarded through many chapters. Not recommened at all!

Do not listen while operating heavy machinery!

While the stories are dated and laden with archaic technology, that's to be expected... these are classics and well written too. If anything, it added to their charm.

The narration however was wooden, stilted and so totally devoid of inflection it may as well have been a robot reading it. (At least from the first two readers as I just couldn't finish, I was losing the will to live.)
