Classic 3/5

I could only get through the first third. There are no profound insights in this. It's boring, meanders, repeats itself excessively, and covers too wide a range of situations to be generalizable. This would've been more useful as an ebook because then you could skip around but as an audiobook it's a slog.

BIBLE VERSES, AND POINTLESS RAMBLING

ok where to begin....
The narration was so bland, like a plain piece of bread, so much so it was almost irritating.
I have no clue why it has all 5 star reviews. This book series...it’s not like a self help book with advice, it’s more like a college paper written on how the therapy works, and it soon becomes apparent that she says the exact same thing over and over again...just worded differently, almost like she is just rambling to add pages to make a really big book. I just honestly don’t get why people 5 star it. Every single book in this set is as painful as the first one.
Also I bought this set for the self discipline part of it, LOL it’s aimed at Christians, with bible quotes. That should have been stated in the title.
I’m definitely getting my credit back, this is complete craziness. Just rambling.
Don’t waste your time.

This is a great book indeed.

Self-discipline is indeed a vital factor in achieving the success that one desires. This book is an effective tool to build that self-discipline. It has great tips and advice. I learned that some traits/skills that I thought are positive and could help me achieve my desired success are, otherwise, disadvantages and that they would make me more unproductive. This book is enlightening for me and teaches me to do away with these traits, change my perspective and build self-discipline. This is a great book indeed.

The perfect tool to improve your self-discipline.

Self Discipline is very important to each individual but only a few are capable to control and be firm to their actions. Often times they lose their self-discipline. This book is the perfect tool to improve your self-discipline. It covers a lot of important aspects in attaining our goal to have full control of ourselves. Peter Jenner did a great job in writing this book, it's simple, clear, realistic achievable and most all it's easy to understand. This book is one of the best self-help books, you will learn a lot from it and the best way to make use of the things I learned is to apply it. I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to improve and be a better person.

Recommended to everyone.

When I think of self-discipline, it’s such a difficult thing to achieve. It does not happen overnight and will take some working on to become a habit. So, I like Jenner’s idea that willpower is like a muscle thus can be strengthened and fatigued. Most of the concepts here are almost the same with self-help books I’ve listened to. The thing is, this book is the foundation of all those self-help books on weight loss, meditation, time management, and so on. Recommended to everyone.

This is a good book,

This is a good book, but it could really use some editing! Parts of it are hard to follow. However, I appreciate many of the tips and tricks that will be helpful for changing habits. This book will teach you about how to change your bad habits, how to be more productive, and about delayed gratification. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

This book is perfect for me.

This book is perfect for me. I have always had problems with low self-esteem and low self-control. Never, have the facts and solutions been put together so well for me. I find this book well explained and something you can listen and listen again when you need a pick me up or reminder

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book!

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book! The beginning was a little slow to interest me but further in it gave very valuable and interesting advice on improving one's self. I will definitely listen to this again and highlight paragraphs that interest me and give great insight

Great self-discipline book.

This was a quick listen but packed full of great tools to develop more self-discipline. Explain the first chapter, I felt like it had me pegged. Then it gave me tangible actions to take to break down my rationalizations and excuses. The writing needs a little work - some awkward sentences are scattered throughout. But this did not seriously detract from the overall benefit of the book.

Poor editing throughout, on the whole not worth the credit

I got these book because of the good reviews- 2nd book is more of an educational book about CBT and its history. It’s alright if not a bit boring, and the speaker’s slips are not edited out and are very distracting.

The last books is largely focused on how to discipline children and presents some potentially dangerous views about managing autism. Again, distracting slip ups are not edited out.

Not Reccomend

The recording audio is awful.

The book doesn't not help to anger management.
information about CBT. I am not a therapist so all the information were useless for me. I haven't found anything interesting.

I didn't enjoy it.

repeated lines in the audio, poorly edited

actual audio replication, which speaks of poor attention to quality and leads me to distrust the content. title is misleading as only appears to deal with anger issues. mostly repeats that people need to seek help rather than giving any incite.

Narration so bad I couldn’t finish

Narration of this book was so bad I could neither concentrate on the content nor finish this book. Also, I felt that the book was more of a mental health help book on regulating emotions and reactions than a self development book on self discipline. I hope others get more value from this book than I do.
