Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Good series, have read all 6
If you could sum up The Scourge of Muirwood in three words, what would they be?
enticing, exciting, integral
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the story lines, so close to so much of our own peoples history, struggles, triumphs, and the ongoing fight between good and evil. It never comes by just getting everything handed to the people; character is never developed by living the life of Riley. The characters are well developed and are taken through a series of challenges, experiences, choices and relationships that teach them to grow up and become men and women of good character. The stories give good examples of how character is developed through the challenges and experiences we face in life. I love how the books give indications of gospel truths, principles of truth through out as the fight with good and evil wages and how truth can be twisted and used for evil. Alluding to the growth that comes by learning how to follow the spirit of God, (the medium) and how to discern the spirits that attempt to influence our lives for good and for evil. I was captured by the story lines and the characters.
Which character – as performed by Kate Rudd – was your favorite?
Loved them all, the good guys and the bad guys, great performance; I was inspired to look into some of her other works, did not care for some of the other stories but I am reading the Mermaids sister. I would look at and peruse anything Jeff has written and Kate has performed.
Any additional comments?
I am an avid reader, of all kinds of genre, and I will say, I was grateful to read such good stories that let you know the man and woman were going to marry and be intimate, without having to read through or skip the details. I really appreciated the respect and trust the characters develop in their relationships without having to read about their genitals or the sex. I know some people like that kind of thing, and I am not a prude, but I prefer the stories without having to enter into the bed chamber. I would recommend these books to my nephews and nieces for reading as well, I believe they would enjoy them.

What an amazing journey!
Wow! What an amazing journey! I listen to audiobooks on my daily commute and I listened to all three in the series consecutively. I was captivated and so into the story, I drove slower so I could listen to more.
Jeff Wheeler created a world that I felt I could taste and smell. His research paid off as I could feel the truth in the rites he described and the way in which the Medium works.
I am in love with all the characters and want to continue journeying with them as they continue serving the Medium. I won’t say anymore so as to not spoil it—but if you enjoy fantasy adventures with realism, detail, mystery, intrigue, good, evil, and epic love...these books are for you!!

this third one was too religious for me.
There have been biblical themes throughout this trilogy but in this final tome, it was quite heavy handed and felt a lot like I was being preached to. I really struggled to finish this.
A very positive thing I thought about this is that Wheeler created a girl I could relate to (biblical themes aside). She gets dirty, she does a fair share of rescuing and getting herself out of her own scrapes. I am thrilled a male writer was able to create a personable and relatable female protagonist.
P.S. There is a HEA for Lia and Colvin in case you were worried

Entertaining and thoughtful
This is the third book in the Muirwood series by Jeff Wheeler...my newest favorite author! The Legend series is as follows... Wretched, Blight, and Scourge(of Muirwood) are the titles in order. There are 4 books that follow this one under the unifying title The Covenant of Muirwood. (Banished,Ciphers,Void, and The LostAbby). As I read deeper and deeper into theseries I began to pick up truths that most don't know about the Christian Bible. Mr.Wheeler must be a Mormon or similar religion or perhaps only studied from their teachings. The story mirrors much of what the Bible teaches us about our forgotten past and reason for this flesh age. very cool...very interesting! It's like a type of what our reality truly is. To think of these truths in this way was a wake up call to me. To understand more of these hidden truths and compare then with this story(which is fiction) read the Bible and ask God to show you truth. He says if ye seek me with all your heart ye shall find me.

I felt a bit ambushed
I have read many of these books. This one was just too biblical in tone for me. I felt preached at whereas I have never felt that way with the other books. And it needed major editing on top of that. Way too long and preachy for me.
