Not my favorite Agatha Christie

This story was a little high drama for my tastes, and the adventures of the “bright young things” a little too improbable. But it was performed well and fun enough to listen to. Just too easy to guess who the real Mr. Brown was. I prefer the Hercule Poirot series and some other Christie novels that have a little more subtlety. I felt this one was trying to imitate a Moriarty type criminal with less success.

A fun performance of a classic

Emilia Fox has a wonderful voice, so I was largely able to forgive her rather painful American accents.

This story has an unusually predictable ending given the author, but the characters are a lot of fun.

Delightful

Agatha is a true genius. This was a magnificently done performance and I enjoyed it immensely. The voices, the pacing, the respect of the storyline. Thank you so much for a delightful experience.

Not one of Agatha Christie’s best

This is one of the weirder Agatha Christie mysteries and kind of unsatisfying. Tommy and Tuppence are a little unnecessarily silly, but the plot is even sillier. Emilia Fox is an excellent narrator in general except when doing American accents - she uses that stylized American accent that a lot of British narrators use (and which I’ve never heard on an American).

Excellent book and performance . A masterpiece.

The book is a masterpiece, as all of Agatha Christie's book, but the performance by Ms Fox was outstanding.

Amazing Agatha

English mystery at its best. This one was filled with lots of clues and potential villains. I had fun trying to figure things out. The narrator was very good. I didn’t have trouble knowing who was speaking. She did male speakers well enough that I completely forgot it was a woman speaking the dialogue. The mystery is full of contemporary times for Christie but it holds up well in the 21st century as a period piece. Great listen.

Greatly enjoyed!

As a lover of crime and thriller, especially Agatha Christie, this was an enjoyable book though not her best.
