Still, it was a captivating tale and I gobbled it up in one day.

Fabulous insight so well written
Great character development.
My only personal observation is that I belueve this book sits on the fence but that's ok.
In reality we all know historically apologises were given by the government for the treatment of these girls. I really think that perhaps some people were treated over harshly in the book where as others were let off. Hmm I'm still mulling this all over, I felt it tried to reset abolish a level playing field which could not be achieved. This is not to say I didn't love this book!
I was enraptured from page one and every page to the end.
Absolutely first rate writing and fabulous narrator too

Any additional comments?
Not normally the type of book i would buy but it was a really addictive read. The only downside was at the end the scape goat was not a carachter within the book. Which to me was a wasted chance for a bit of gasp shock horror! Vanessa Coffey's voice was absolutely perfect for this book.

Failed to reach expectation
Sabina, a pregnant 38 year old, discovers that she was adopted at birth, so sets out to discover how this came about, who her birth parents were and why these facts were hidden from her. I was expecting a strong emotional story but somehow it failed to reach expectation.
The story is told from the perspective of Sabina, her adoptive mother Megan and her birth mother Lily but none of the characters showed any real depth or expressed strong feeling about the events leading up to the adoption. Although well written and a potentially good storyline, for me it became tedious and cringe worthy. Just not a page turner!
