Publisher's Summary

As book two of The Wilderking Trilogy opens, Aidan is living in the court of King Darrow. He has become best friends with Darrow's son Steren, and he enjoys great favor among the courtiers. But King Darrow's suspicion is growing, and his insecurity causes him to hate the young man who saved his kingdom. Concerned about his king's spiral into ever-darker moods, Aidan asks what he can do to help. Darrow sends him on an impossible adventure to the recesses of Feechiefen Swamp, thinking he is sending Aidan to his death. After all, no Corenwalder has ever returned from Feechiefen alive. But Aidan's fate is not sealed yet, for Aidan has allies among the feechiefolk who know him as the hero, Pantherbane.

Ha ha ha woof awwwwwwoooooooo!

This addition to the Wilderking Trilogy is just as good as the first! I love this trilogy, and am now taking a second listen! This book is good to listen to during workouts, while cleaning, cooking, gardening, or really any other task you may have on your daily list! But beware, once you start listening you won’t be able to stop!!!!!!!!!

riveting tale of deep adventure and wonder

What an excellent writer! Details of swamps, family love, vernacular of gator hunters and feechies alike are wild with richness, humor and beauty. So so much depth to this story, yet told with such vividness and wildness!!! Yes!!!

Such a treat!

My son and I enjoyed immensely the first of this trilogy as a read aloud. But to hear the author tell us the next episode in his own voice, accent and emphasis was a real treat! We highly recommend this story and audio book.

Seriously Swampy

Aidan and Dobro are back! This story continues the story of Aidan's journey on his way to becoming the Wilderking. Set far away from his family home on Long Leaf Manor, this time he is on an errand for the king - an errand which will take him into dangerous waters and into conflict with dangerous characters. And who is this mysterious Wilderking who has appeared to the Feechie Folk? The mystery will be revealed at the end and it's worth it! (Ok...I'm an older reader and saw this coming but it did not detract one bit from my enjoyment of the story!) Rogers has created characters with their own language, history, lore, customs, and songs. The story is fun to read and the author's voice for all the sound effects brings it to life. Listen and enjoy!

Such a fun book of adventure and a boy's honorable soul! The narrator does a great job of portraying the Fiji Folk.

mind blown

I'm a 40 years old man and I listen to mostly self help or business books. I listened to the first book in the trilogy with my kids who are under 10 years old, thinking I'd do them a favor. I was hooked at the first line. We finished the first book on a raod trip. Since then, I drive to and from work without my kids and have devoured the second book on tape in less than 3 days. Ive had to apologize for listening without my kids, who are listening at a slower pace. You will not regret this purchase. I didn't realize I enjoyed fiction books, but I can't stop this series! WOW! so good!!
