In a world of increasing ideological diversity, kids are being challenged to think through their own beliefs at an early age. Jesus' treatment of women was revolutionary. That's why they flocked to him. Wherever he went, they sought him out. Women sat at his feet and tugged at his robes. They came to him for healing, for forgiveness, and for answers. In Jesus through the Eyes of Women, Rebecca McLaughlin explores the life-changing accounts of women who met the Lord. By entering the stories of the named and unnamed women in the Gospels, this book gives listeners a unique lens to see Jesus as these women did and marvel at how he loved them in return.

Story
How did the world arrive at its current, disorienting state of identity politics, and how should the church respond? Historian Carl R. Trueman discusses how influences ranging from traditional institutions to technology and pornography moved modern culture toward an era of “expressive individualism.” Investigating philosophies from the Romantics, Nietzsche, Marx, Wilde, Freud, and the New Left, he outlines the history of Western thought to the distinctly sexual direction of present-day identity politics and explains the modern implications of these ideas.

Alisa Childers never thought she would question her Christian faith. She was raised in a Christian home, where she had seen her mom and dad feed the hungry, clothe the homeless, and love the outcast. She had witnessed God at work and then had dedicated her own life to leading worship as part of the popular Christian band ZOEgirl. All that was deeply challenged when she met a progressive pastor who called himself a hopeful agnostic. Another Gospel? describes the intellectual journey Alisa took over several years as she wrestled with a series of questions.

In an increasingly secular society, those who have a biblical worldview are now a shrinking minority. As mainstream culture grows more hostile toward the Bible’s truths and those who embrace them, you’ll face mounting pressures — from family, friends, media, academia, and government — to change and even abandon your beliefs. But these challenges also create abundant opportunities to stand strong for Christ and shine light to those hurt by the darkness of our day.

Not everything called "social justice" today is compatible with a biblical vision of a better world. The Bible offers hopeful and distinctive answers to deep questions of worship, community, salvation, and knowledge that ought to mark a uniquely Christian pursuit of justice.

Publisher's Summary
"In this house we believe that: Black Lives Matter, Love Is Love, Gay Rights Are Civil Rights, Women’s Rights Are Human Rights, Transgender Women Are Women".
You may have seen signs with some of these messages in your neighborhood. They offer us an all-or-nothing package deal - in short, a secular creed. In this provocative audiobook, Rebecca McLaughlin helps us disentangle the beliefs Christians gladly affirm from those they cannot embrace, and invites us to talk with our neighbors about the things that matter most. Far from opposing love across difference, McLaughlin argues, Christianity is the original source and firmest foundation for true diversity, equality, and life-transforming love.

A powerful masterpiece. A must-read.
Intelligently, thoughtfully, and beautifully written. Any Jesus follower who wants to engage our current culture in a way that both upholds the truths of Scripture and takes Jesus’ radical and humble approach to loving and reaching people with the gospel will not be disappointed with this book. Our Christian witness depends on the type of wisdom the author shares for this day and age. This is the book I’ve been waiting for. I have hundreds of titles in audible and Kindle, and I plan not only to re-listen but also to read this one again. There is no fluff in these pages. Not one wasted word. I flew through it. Don’t hesitate to get this. The author’s narration is also wonderfully done. A++ all around. Thank you very much, Rebecca McLaughlin, for writing this masterpiece.

Really great read
In an age where we are bombarded in the media about so many topics, this was a refreshing book to read. Filled with great theology to compel the Christian towards a more biblical world view. Especially the final chapter which encourages more compassion, conversations, understanding and love for Christ through engaging in the complexity of this world.

A Great Book Addressing Secular Claims
I loved this short little book! Rebecca takes all the populat secular claims and demonstrates that the underlying assumption behind each of them is rooted in a Christian worldview. She also points out sin and hypocrisy within the Christian church and shows how that is part of what led to these secular ideas becoming so popular and portraying Christianity so badly to modern secularists. This book was challenging, informative, and encouraging at the same time. I hope this book helps us each to see how the secular creed falls short of the glory of the gospel!

White experiences aren’t valid assumptions
Mrs. McLaughlin makes it obviously aware that as an immigrant from another country she lacks understanding in racial dynamics about American history. Knowing this she still continues to write from the perspective that she is speaking for black and brown Americans, just another white woman who thinks she know better than others. Her narrative on the civil rights and liberties pertaining to ALL people, both LGBTQ+ and women, is dangerous and misleading. The statistics and data she presents is awfully misleading and attempts to construct a narrative that gender affirming care is an epidemic that needs to be stopped. This was just a bad read in general.

Good points, relatable content hopefully for all.
Good addressed topics, just speaks slightly too fast to take in great points and work through them. if she read slower and maybe fleshed out a few more of the examples would be a stronger book.
