Not edited so text repeats

I feel sorry for the reader of this, they didn’t edit it. There are frequent places where she rereads the text. There are frequent places where she rereads the text and it repeats and is annoying a f. Can I let go of wanting this book to be properly edited? Could I? Would I let go of wanting it to be edited? When?

What an unedited mess!

It's embarrassing to think that I actually paid for this mess, and that Audible and Amazon offered it for sale. The narrator repeated phrases like doing a second take on many occasions, had a hard time ending words with an S sound like thoughts and choice, left out whole lines and phrases so that what came through didn't make sense, and couldn't pronounce words like detritus, impatient, inconsolable, vengeful, and turned imperturbable into imperdible, which has a completely different meaning. I felt the need to record and edit every chapter with my sound editor, but you can't do a thing about badly mispronounced words or missing phrases. Just a total mess and a waste of a heck of a lot of time. Audible is usually better than this. Too bad this is a book I really want to listen to again and again.

Distracting production values and narration

I found the narrator's voice to be very distracting and rushed - not suited to this material. Why would they use a woman's voice (sounds like a smoker) for Dale Dwoskin's words?! I was hoping that it would be his voice! There's also no differentiation when someone else is speaking; you only realise this after they say the person's name that they've just directly quoted. Overall, it feels as though it was done on the cheap, too quickly and by sound engineers who didn't have enough experience for a project like this.

Audio issues aside, this is an excellent book with an incredibly strong message. Perhaps getting the actual book on this occasion would have been a better choice!

Repeat!

There are many instances where the reader repeats sentences and multiple sentences. I have never encountered this on audible before. It is very distracting.

A grand welcome step by Hale Dwoskin

Its great book with many Pros & a stray Con; Repeated reference to a chart or diagram in book (chart, diagram pdf is not supplied with audiobook) becomes a hurdle. And cumbersome to carry big 400 plus page book with you for referring while listening audiobook on the go & while out moving.
Narrator, Trish Elliot has done great job except recurrent repetition of sentences at many places, while her voice quality is very rich & soothing even for long hearing span. For which she deserves appreciations.
Oveall, congrats to Hale & Sedona Press for executing finally the much awaited task.

Great book - unedited

I am always so grateful if a book is recorded as an audiobook. This is true for this book too. The narrator is an outstanding professional. The recording is very low quality though. Also while there was either no editor on board, or the editor was daydreaming while editing, the narrator reads smoothly through the book, repeating sentences every now and again, as you would expect if recording a book. It then simply wasn’t edited. As there currently is no other recording of this book, it’s better than nothing. But it reads like a book with lots of sentences repeated. Hopefully the book will be re-recorded at a professionally equipped recording studio with an awake skilled editor.
