Publisher's Summary

The nation’s number one real estate broker and star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York shares his secrets for superstar success and getting what you want out of life - no matter who you are or what you do.

Ten years ago, Fredrik Eklund moved to New York City from his native Sweden with nothing but a pair of worn-out sneakers and a dream: To make it big in the city that never sleeps. Since then, he’s become the top seller in the most competitive real estate market on the planet, brokering multimillion-dollar deals for celebrities, selling out properties all over the city, and charming audiences around the world as one of the stars of the hit Bravo series Million Dollar Listing New York.

Now, for the first time, Fredrik shares his secrets so that anyone can find success doing what they love. According to Fredrik, even if you don’t consider yourself a salesperson, you’ve been in sales your whole life because every day you are selling your most important asset: Yourself. Whenever you influence, persuade or convince someone to give you something in exchange for what you’ve got - whether it’s a luxury home, a great idea at work, or your profile on Match.com - you are selling. And if you know how to sell the right way, you can live your dream. That is what The Sell is all about.

Blending personal stories, hilarious anecdotes, and the expertise he’s gained from his meteoric rise, Fredrik has written the modern guide on becoming successful, an audiobook that tells you how to recognize and cultivate your true talents and make the ultimate sell. From the importance of being your most authentic self to looking like a million bucks even if you don’t have a million bucks (yet!), he shows how intangible factors like personality and charm can get you noticed and make you shine. He also shares his tips and tricks for preparing, persuading, and negotiating so that in any of life’s dealings, you’ll come out a winner.

Whether you work on Wall Street or at Wal-Mart, aim to become the top seller at your company or want to impress a first date, The Sell will help you have more personal and professional success, lead a rich and fulfilling life, and have fun along the way.

Critic Reviews

"After moving from Sweden to New York, Eklund became a megastar in that city's hyperkinetic real estate market; now he wows 'em at Bravo's Million Dollar Listing New York, which airs in 113 countries and is the No. 1 TV show on iTunes. This primer on how to sell 'anything to everyone' will be big; there were already several thousand preorders seven months before publication date." (Library Journal)

"Fredrik is one of the most fun and talented people in real estate sales today. He always delivers with undeniable charisma and this book is no exception." (Ivanka Trump, VP of Real Estate Development and Acquisitions at The Trump Organization and author of The Trump Card)

"Fredrik could sell ice to an Eskimo. I can't do a high kick, but I'm excited to learn his other tricks!" (Andy Cohen, author of the New York Times best seller The Andy Cohen Diaries, television host and producer)

Don't waste time or money.

Very little practical advice about selling. The focus is on the author himself. Don't waste your money like I did.

Not a story about how to sell, but about his life

The book was a very enjoyable listen, Fredrik was an excellent narrator.

However, as the title describes the book, I got the impression that it would be a book on sales strategies he uses. While he shares some tips and tricks, the book is mostly filled with his own story and how amazing he himself is.

Ego Trip

What was most disappointing about the authors’s story?

The author likes to tell you how great he is. Seemed like more of an ego trip for him. I didn't find the book particularly helpful and wouldn't recommend it.

A Must "Read"

Where does The Sell rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best! I read a variety of different books, and this is a must "read" no matter what you do in life. If you're in sales - of any kind - this is a necessity! Really pumps you up and makes you think of things differently.

#TheSell - By far, the best book I have read

I have watched every season of MDLNY, and after reading The Sell, I have to say, Fredrik is polished on ALL levels of business and in life. From the shoes you wear, to celebrating the wins, Fredrick has it mastered. I have and will continue to apply his business mindset and strategies to my business (Detroit Real Estate Expert.) Well written, and narrated Fredrik!! A++

Fantastic Book!

Frederik has written a masterpiece - a manual for anyone aspiring for something greater. His insight into the modern relationships between excellence and the exceptional journey each of us take to get there is uniquely profound. You will discover his advice on business, love, and everything in between, is significant and applicable to you; whatever your specific path may be. I look forward to reading his future books, and you should to. If everything he writes is as applicable and enjoyable as this book, then he will have solidified the "Eklund" name as a staple in the community of significant modern authors.

Don't bother

Ok I normally only leave good reviews but felt surprised and strongly how awful I found everything about this book to be. The only highlight was Barbara Corcoran who I wasn't that fond of until I heard the 10 minutes she contributed to this book. I wish I had purchased her book instead since she was well spoken, interesting, smart... I don't watch MILLION DOLLAR LISTING but heard about it and love to hear about smart people. I wish someone else had narrated this book because I just can't seem to listen to this guy talk for more then a few seconds. I feel like I am in health class having to listen to how important healthy eating is for like an hour and learning nothing new. When he went into a half hour rant about his day only to talk diet and sleep again without actually having anything to say, I couldn't waste my time anymore. Let's just say, I won't be finishing this pointless book. Sorry I'm sure he is a nice guy who worked hard but the book taught me way less then I would learn watching a cartoon.

I wanted to like it more than I did.

it had it's moments, but didn't indpire me ti high kick my way to the very end. I do, however, really admire Frederik's drive for success.
