Story
During a Christmas Eve wedding at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, Ellen and her friends are visited by multiple ghosts. The spirits have come to tell their stories to right the wrongs that history has done to their memories. Each of them died in Asheville with their voices stifled. One spirit is particularly adamant and threatening, despite her small size, and her mood fluctuates like the mountain winds surrounding the great estate. She claims to be the ghost of Zelda Fitzgerald, and she wants her story told, even if she has to kill to make it happen.

It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

Never a boring moment
This is the first in this series I’ve read/listened to. But it was easy to get into and is definitely a stand alone. I loved this group of friends. They were hilarious. At one point, I thought I was going to have to pull off the road while I listened to the audiobook. It was so funny! There were other moments that were sad and would bring me to tears. And some sort of scary parts in regards to the shade. It was so sad about how he felt and how the suicides happened. But never fear, the ladies worked their magic to bring it all together and bring a good ending.
If you like audiobooks, this one is great. The narrator is really good and really puts the passion into it.

Great paranormal mystery
When Tanya, Sue, and Ellen are vacationing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Ellen reveals her plans to buy a house there as an artist retreat but thing become complicated when they become embroiled in another paranormal mystery. This book touches on some of the darker parts of US history and illustrated how fear can affect a country and its citizens. It is well written with great characters and a captivating plot that pulls at your heart. The narrator, Debbie Andreen, did an excellent job and really brought the characters to life. These women are a fun crew and their paranormal adventures are thrilling and always a pleasure to listen to.

New Mexico fun!
I didn’t realize how much I missed Tanya, Sue, and Ellen till I started this book.
It was fun to travel with them to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The descriptions were so vivid and it was like I was right there with them along for the ride and enjoying the New Mexico food.
Like the previous books, the author surprised me with the the long forgotten history of the Japanese interment camp. I didn’t know they had any in New Mexico so I was surprised.
I really enjoyed the paranormal elements to the story. It made everything so much more intriguing, The mystery and what really happened at Suicide Bridge.
I’m looking forward to finding out what happened at the Biltmore estates! If you enjoy reading paranormal women fiction with a bit of history, then check out this wonderful series.
I highly recommend the audiobook. The narrator, Debbie Andreen voice is perfect for the ladies. The variety of inflections and tones used really elevated the story for me.

Dark but amazing!
This story dealt with darker themes, reminiscent of the first book but I found it captivating non the less! I still loved how Ellen, Tanya and Sue are still themselves and bring the quirky things into this story. I love how each book touches on deep historical event that aren't always those that are out there being promoted and having the light shone on them, these books make you think about history and those events.
