Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

They are still being hunted by Ray, the power-mad villain who will stop at nothing to find the formula to the mind-controlling discipline serum - one that Ozzy’s parents created and injected into him. Knowing the dangers that lie ahead, Rin introduces Ozzy to four more friends who also claim magical, wizard-like abilities. Again, Ozzy has no reason to believe that magic exists or that Rin’s eccentric friends can help.

Great series.
This book series is so engrossing I'm completely addicted. Sadly, while looking for a release date for book 3, I found out the author died of cancer in November while writing the final book, book 6. They are finishing it with another author. I hope they do the series justice. Looking forward to book 3 as this narrator is one of the best I've heard and the story is compelling. Sad that such a talented author had to die so young.

wonderful, though still following a famous bookset
Easily worth 5 stars for being interesting, well written and quite gripping even as an adult, however we are still following a book series that became a TV series reasonably closely. I very nearly gave the story 4 stars because of it but I'm loving the series and so I gave it 5.

Excellent. Well read. Original. I was glued to it from start to finish. Set in the modern day with very occasional short flashbacks explaining origins of the institute. Likeable main characters and plenty of action. I leave a full review very rarely but this book warranted it. Straight into my favourites collection.

captivating from start to finish
i must say this book didn't start of as good as the first in the series but my did it make up for that. again Peter Kenny performs great and the story is top notch. I love the rest the books for into each other as well leaving you in a cliff hanger at the end of each one like a series should do. like with the first one my only annoyance is too many this person said when it's clear from Kenny's voice acting who is talking. I'm sure I'll get used to it by the end of the last book. onto the next book in the series and I'm loving it.

Excellent stories
more of a pause between change of time line could be used to make it less confusing
sometimes the accents of the characters got mixed up
sometimes I had to restart bits because it was too fast
his voices was pleasant but it would be nice if sometimes kids read the kid parts eg cast àppropriate voices for each character
