Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Great Story!! Cons: slow start & poor narration
- By Monica on 01-17-17
Publisher's Summary
Can the Crystal Shard be destroyed at last? Drizzt is determined to destroy the evil Crystal Shard, and seeks out the help of the scholar-priest Cadderly. But instead, his worst fears are realized, and Crenshinibon falls into the hands of the dark elf mercenary Jarlaxle and his unlikely ally Artemis Entreri.
The Silent Blade is the book that brought Drizzt back to the Realms, and was a New York Times best seller on its initial release - and has been in print every day since. Like the rest of the Legend of Drizzt(R) reissues, The Silent Blade features beautiful new cover art by award-winning illustrator Todd Lockwood.

Another Awesome Adventure
A triple 'A' title all the way! I started this journey from the very first Drizzt book and with each one I listen to everything just keeps getting better and I keep getting more enthralled and sucked into this incredibly wondrous world. Practically every character that gets written in becomes someone you want to keep track of and remember, there's not that many books I've read or listened to that I can say that about.
If your wanting a lasting read and you can't wait to get your next fix because it's just that good these books are just the ticket!

Problem with Content
What did you like best about The Silent Blade? What did you like least?
I have read all of R.A. Salvatore books regarding to Drizzt except for the newer releases. The audible versions I have listened to leave out much of the book in critical parts...The only reason I am able to follow the story line is that I have read almost all the paper copies...it shouldn't be noted as unabridged as it isn't. That is why I gave a three star for overall ....
What did you like best about this story?
Drizzt is an awesome Dark Elf...
What about Victor Bevine’s performance did you like?
He is a great
Could you see The Silent Blade being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes, however; I would not like it to be condensed. Maybe a series of epic movies would be awesome...

Victor Bevine is truly uncanny...
Victor Bevine does such an amazing job portraying each character that I feel if this series was ever made into an animated ongoing series that Victor could portray most of the cast. This story is amazing and I really would love to see it brought into a medium that would capture uneven larger audience as it is captured me. RA Salvatore's attention to blade movement and footwork really amuse me and really allow me to visualize how each combat is played out. I'm a huge fan of the characters and the setting and it's just an all-around fun experience when coupled with such a talented voice actor like Victor Bevine.

Killer Filler.
R.A Salvatore once again brings out the old and retired “Drizzt and Friends” routine but finally gives focus on better developing the side characters. Victor Bevine kills his performance as usual. I know this review is 10 books late, but if you’re like me and still working your way through, don’t be dismayed; it’s still a good book and you should keep going!

Does this book answer the question
As I continue to listen to all of the books in this series I keep getting reminded of the many small details I’d forgotten about as time has moved on. In this book I forgot every one expected Cattie-Bre and Wulfgar to pick right up where they left off forgetting all that has passed since they last met.
Here is a great story which ties into the latest Avenger’s movie at this time of writing. What happened if everyone we went away 5 years ago suddenly came back. Yeah, it sounds good in a script. However, reality is something completely different! What is the person who left was abusive or the people who remained got married. This book written eleven years before that movie answers the question without issue! Read the story and you’ll know the answer as well!

Please edit the mispronunciations of “bade”
In every single book of The Legend of Drizzt series, Mr. Victor Bevine’s pronunciation of the past tense form of the word “bid” drives me crazy and ruins my immersion. It isn’t bad. There’s no way it can be bad. Bade is pronounced the same as in Paid, as in you could have paid someone a little more to catch that continuing mispronunciation error every single time it is used in Salvatore’s writing!
Bade. “Baid” not bad. ARGH!

Skippable, a small detail might be significant phut mostly pretty forgettable. Wulfgar has ptsd and takes to drink, artemis is artemis, jarlaxle is jarlaxle and drizzt is drizzt. None of the other characters do much.
