The one that got away. Every girl has one, right? Mine was a charming, British aristocrat who turned my world upside down one summer. From the moment I first spotted Leo in the distance through my binoculars, I’d been captivated. I certainly never expected to find a man showering outside of the property across the bay in his birthday suit.

Piper hasn't even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won't last a week outside of Beverly Hills. How bad could it really be?

Publisher's Summary
The New York Times best-selling author of The Unhoneymooners returns with a hilariously witty and feel-good rom-com about your perfect match being the last person you'd expect....
Jess Davis is a numbers genius, but when it comes to love, she's had to accept there is no magic formula. Juggling a career with raising her daughter, it's not surprising that her love life is...nonexistent. When yet another date ends in disaster, she's prepared to give up on love for good.
But then she hears about GeneticAlly, a buzzy new matchmaking company that claims to find you the One using a DNA equation. Suddenly, love doesn't seem quite so far out of reach....
Until her test shows an unheard-of 98 per cent compatibility with GeneticAlly's founder, Dr River Pena. Jess already knows Dr Pena, and this man is 100 per cent not her soul mate. Yet as the pair are dragged from one event to the next, as the ultimate 'Diamond' pairing that could make GeneticAlly a fortune, Jess begins to realise that there might be more to the scientist - and to the science behind a soul mate - than she thought.

Fun, Romantic comedy
This is a light, fun, albeit unrealistic, romantic comedy of a struggling single mom who meets a wealthy/hot doctor in a coffee shop. The love story is too good to be true but it was an entertaining listen.

Seratonin infused
This book is the literary equivalent of a hot bath and a slab of fancy chocolate and should be made into pill form to cheer people up on gloomy days. The plot is entirely predictable but in a very satisfying way and the characters are genuinely loveable and well-written, so you can get properly invested. I do a lot of “highbrow” reading and it’s all well and good but this is FUN. A hug for the soul.

So gorgeous - give fizzy her own book!
I read unhoneymooners which I fell in love with it was so witty so easy to get through. I was honestly a bit sceptical when I read the blurb but when I started I loved it, the supporting characters like fizzy, Juno and pops are well developed and so wonderful and charming. It was a joy to listen to - great narration too! I am going happily work my way through this all the Christina Lauren I can get hold of.

Good fun
An enjoyable book, a bit cheesy for me (male lead = tall/dark/ rich /handsome; female lead = single mum). A good range of characters and easy to read.
However, the author of the book considered it important to point out when someone was 'black' or 'Asian'. I'm not sure why all of the characters were not simply treated equally.

A perfect comfort read
This is an absolutely adorable story. I can't remember ever dreading coming of crisis in storyline so much. I knew it was going to come, but everything was so cute and perfect. The main couple was great, side characters lovable. What can I say? It was great.

Loved it!
This is one of the few rom-coms I've read this year with credible adult dialogs. I love how the main character knows her worth and speaks her mind. She knows how to claim the respect she deserves in a classy, kind and thoughtful way. I really enjoyed this one. I'll be looking out for more books from the author.

A real kind of romance
I loved this book because it has been the closes I have come to reading a relationship that is based in a form of reality. The main character on the whole makes real rational choices. I didn’t have to scream in my head ‘but why would you do that!’ Many romances stories lead the main characters make ridiculous decisions to drive the narrative and it just didn’t happen in this book. So it could be seen as boring but I would suggest it’s refreshing.

Simple and Sweet
Loved the whole plot, it didn’t overcomplicate itself but I still wanted to listen more every time. Character design was amazing and I really started to care about all of them. Would pretty much recommend this book to anyone unless you don’t like romance

My favourite Christina Lauren book so far!
This book made my heart both sing and ache. Everything I want a romance to do. I loved the slow burn romance of River and Jess and went right along the journey with them. Fizzy was an amazing side character and I hope she gets story turn next. So well researched by both authors too.
