Publisher's Summary

Following the best-selling The Seven Sisters, The Storm Sister is the second book in Lucinda Riley's spellbinding series of love and loss, based loosely on the mythology surrounding the famous star constellation.

Ally D'Aplièse is about to compete in one of the world's most perilous yacht races, when she hears the news of her adoptive father's sudden, mysterious death. Rushing back to meet her five sisters at their family home, she discovers that her father - an elusive billionaire affectionately known to his daughters as Pa Salt - has left each of them a tantalising clue to their true heritage.

Ally has also recently embarked on a deeply passionate love affair that will change her destiny forever. But with her life now turned upside down, Ally decides to leave the open seas and follow the trail that her father left her, which leads her to the icy beauty of Norway....

There, Ally begins to discover her roots - and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over a hundred years before and sang in the first performance of Grieg's iconic music set to Ibsen's play Peer Gynt. As Ally learns more about Anna, she also begins to question who her father, Pa Salt, really was. And why is the seventh sister missing?

My Favorite Of The Series So Far

This has numerous wonderful stories intertwined magically. I’m hoping my enjoyment continues with each story of the mysteriously interesting sisters.

Interesting but very shallow characters.

Interesting but very shallow characters. Thecrecipe is compelling but very predictable. I will do this once a year to take a break from more substantial reading.

Even better than the first book……

Lucinda Riley has done an exceptional job of continuing the story of the seven sisters. I enjoyed the first book but admit that I’m now hooked on the series. I really enjoy the historical and genealogical aspects of the stories. Looking forward to Star’s story.

Enjoyable

I’ll glad I listened and will continue to book 3. This story line was easily predicted but enjoyable. Author goes a little too deep and far into the past reflections that drag. Although predictable it was interesting and informative from the world of sailing and music. The research done by the author makes for an interesting story, characters and lives.

Amazing

I wasn’t sure at the beginning that I would like this sister’s book as much as The first sister. It didn’t take long to be enthralled in this amazing story of love, loss, love, loss and finally love.

Brings the story to life

I have read all the Seven Sister books before and decided I would revisit them but listen on Audible instead of reading them this time. This is a very well put together audible and I enjoyed it just as much as when I read it the first time.

Absolutely wonderful

I didn’t want this to end, I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to read The Shadow Sister which is next in the series. Complex and completely believable characters, this book is full of beautifully described range of emotions without unnecessary detail bringing the characters to life and completely immersing the reader into the unfolding story. I loved the way the stories developed, well paced yet never losing connection to the main character Ally and her journey. I can’t recommend this enough.

Too much technical details regarding composers and music pieces

Although the overall story was interesting I found it went into far too much detail about music prices and composers. It was quite boring in many places

Brilliant

I thought the first book on the seven sisters was amazing and this proved to be just as brilliant. Literally couldn’t stop listening. Combined within a story in a story the listener is transported to historical events in different countries and still manages to bring previous characters from the previous book up to date. Brilliant and very clever. Lucinda Riley absolutely awesome.

Sensational Story

I read The Seven Sisters before this novel. I just had to keep reading about the second sister and then I’d review both here. WOW this is some seriously classy writing from the author. The story in each book kept me riveted, and I’m now going to buy Storm’s parody in book number 3. I’m giving no spoilers here, but truly hope this series of books are one day on the silver screen.

Why by the new version of this book.

Why would I buy another version on an Audiobook I already have? I love the series but really struggled with original audiobook’s French English accent. Especially as Ally is told that her English was so good you wouldn’t have known it wasn’t her native language.
So glad I bought this version, Hattie’s performance is spot on and engaging.

Love Ally, tears & joy

My only problem was the audio was just released & had read all the other 6 sisters stories (including the missing sister). Only Atlas to go. No doubt will go back & read all 7 books again. Absolutely Fabulous series
