Ehhh

Was hoping to learn how to tell stories better. I wanted the nuts and bolts. What I got was a compilation of other people’s stories. A montage of inspiring people but not the how to. After a couple hours into it, I’m bored.

Pretentious trivialities in a patronizing voice

That's kinda book you want your money back on. Very basic stuff, repeated again and again in a tone of explaining to a three years old. I stopped listening after he explained what an "analogy" is for the forth time, trying to make it sound like he's explaining the theory of super symmetry.

Apparently it's still a secret

This author obviously does not have the secret to story telling. This book is a hybrid between a really crappy self self-help book and cliché how to succeed in business book. The idea of helping an interested reader learn how to find her or his own story and tell it in an interesting way is a terrific concept. The execution in this case is terrible.

For me, this author lost all credibility the moment he determined that Walmart is a noteworthy example of skillful storytelling and community building, using their infamous company "Associate" meeting to illustrate his point. Walmart Associates do not like Walmart and even most Walmart customers leave from a store feeling at least a little worse about themselves.

I wish I could get my money back. This sucked so bad I can't even finish it.

A beautiful story teaching how to tell you own.

Using the principles of effective storytelling the author teaches what those principles are and how to use them. Fun, inspiring, and enlightening this is a great audiobook to listen to.

Book of Constant Story Telling

What would have made The Storyteller's Secret better?

The stories are great, but 8 hours of story after story get's old

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

There were so many stories I can't remember them all and after a while I forgot what the book was about

The Secret: Write a book about CEOs who tell stories and people will buy it!

If you listened to this book and didn't know what TED was, it would lead you to believe that TED is a series of business marketing motivational talks. But I know TED is much more diverse. Too bad the author didn't pick up on that. I thought it would be a book on the storytelling secrets of a diverse array of TED Talkers. Instead it's about how to succeed in business by telling stories about big name CEO types who tell stories.

Fantastic Book

Absolutely Excellent.

This book provided clear evidence on why story is the best communication vehicle for humanity. Don't try to change people's minds without appealing to their heart through story.
