Story
Aiden Anderson got off to a tough start in life. He had a small family to begin with, and they were all gone by the time he turned 16. He did his best to shake off his grief and go on to a successful life as a musician. He was talented, but just missed the big time. When Aiden dies in a car crash, he couldn't be more surprised to open his eyes in his grandmother's kitchen in 1961. He has a second chance at everything: family, friends, and fame. Even in Middle Falls, second chances don't always turn out right.

Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Publisher's Summary
Hart Tanner is a con man; a grifter who enjoys gaming people as much as he enjoys whatever ill-gotten gains he might receive.
When he dies an embarrassing, pain-riddled death, he is beyond surprised to wake up at an earlier point in his life with all memories still intact. A con man with access to life after life with no real consequences, why would he ever change the way he lives? But Hart Tanner does change. No matter how stubbornly he clings to his own resistance.
Like all books in the Middle Falls Time Travel series, The Stubborn Lives of Hart Tanner can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel.

Another winner in the Middle Falls series
I am so pleased to listen to the story of Hart Tanner. Based on other reader reviews, I was prepared not to like the character in the beginning but I never found a point where I felt that way. Each character in the Middle Falls series is unique and interesting, and I absolutely love the series and sharing with my friends! Thank you Shawn for another character and adventure to love.

Another Fantastic Book!
I loved Harts story! This man is no stranger to adversity, and it was a joy to listen as he fumbled his way through finding himself.
Mushu is the best! I got misty eyed for sure when it came to that little pooch.
As always, the narrator did a wonderful job and the story kept me engaged and excited to keep listening.

this is how I would live my lives
Throughout this entire series, I've been asking myself "is that how I would have done it"? In most cases it's a yes, but in this one it's a firm, ABSOLUTELY. As a life long extrovert, that doesn't have a need for glory and just wants to do his own thing, his story was very relatable. Very emotional ending as always. Wonderful book.

Great ending
I LOVE the middle falls series of books & started this close to when it became available. I thought it might go in a couple different directions and could not predict how things eventually unfolded. I loved the last quarter and felt a lot of emotion over the growth of Hart Tanner. Portions along the way though were a little slow for me & Hart didn’t resonate with as other characters in this series have. Overall, I will definitely continue to read the Middle Falls books as Shawn Inmon creates more. Thanks for the adventure.

Yet another great trip to Middle Falls
I had the pleasure of reading Hart Tanner’s story earlier when it came out in paperback and Kindle. However I couldn’t wait for it to come out in audio as I always get more out of it because of the way the narrator embodies and becomes the character. And in this case, Joe Barrett did a fantastic job of becoming Hart Tanner. Whatever voice I had in my head while reading the print version was erased and now Joe Barrett IS Hart Tanner. He did a fantastic job of conveying Hart’s character, personality, emotions, and story. And of course, the story is a great one, as all Middle Falls stories are. Shawn Inmon once again did a great job of taking us to that wonderfully strange piece of Americana for a brief time. It’s great to live in Middle Falls for a couple of days while I read these books; it’s like a vacation back home, to a simpler time, to a more friendly time. Shawn is a fantastic storyteller and this is a great story. All Middle Falls stories are about lessons to be learned during the characters’ many lives, and this story is a satisfying one about Hart learning to overcome his own troubled upbringing and become someone good. Hats off to both Shawn and Joe; this is a great story!

I found the middle falls series by chance. After having listened to the first book I couldn't imagine how another story using the same premise could work without becoming repetitive.
