I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Publisher's Summary
A hopeless romantic and cynical news producer set out to find a “missed connection” from a NY subway. Will finding the Subway Girl lead to love?
Graphic designer and cinnamon roll Ryan Carlson is just a regular guy - a good guy - looking to meet the right woman. A transplant to New York from small town Iowa, he’s a strong believer in fate and hoping to recreate the magic his parents found. When he spies a stranger on the New York subway, he feels an instant connection. Before he can muster the courage to talk to her, the beautiful woman exits the train. Intent on finding her, he creates a website with all the details he can remember in the hopes someone will recognize her.
Angie Prince is a cynical news producer for the TMZ-style website Celebrity Monger. Between her nonexistent father figure, cheating boyfriend, and the celebrity infidelity she covers on her job, the native New Yorker believes love and goodness is for suckers. Desperate to help her unscrupulous boss take the site to network television, Angie needs a big story to boost ratings and page views.
As Ryan’s love quest causes a social media frenzy and collides with Angie’s search for headlines, he can’t help see the gorgeous woman behind the newswoman’s tough exterior. And though Angie happily pimps Ryan’s story for ratings, the biggest news might be the growing feelings in her own heart.
Is the mismatched couple’s focus for affections totally off track, or is fate about to arrive on platform passion?
The Subway Girl combines witty humor, sizzling chemistry, likeable characters, funny banter, and heart-swooning moments into a story of unexpected love and fate.
If you love opposites-attract romances, small-town heroes, sassy heroines, and great banter, scroll up now to buy.

Another fun & sexy rom-com from Lisa Becker. This book is filled with so many lines that had me giggling throughout. This couple takes the hard way to get where they need to be but the ride was worth it. They had great chemistry and pretty steamy sex but they also had a great connection where they just got each other. I also really enjoyed the supporting characters, his friends were so funny and good, you just couldn't help but love them too. All that and a great happy ending too.
The narration was great, Erin Mallon is always perfect, especially narrating alone where we get a lot more of her male voice too, it's like a double win!

Great Characters, fun banter.
Another fun listen by this Lisa Becker. Full of fun characters and witty banter. A very different feel to this one that didn't feel contrived despite the reality show vibe. The characters were interesting, as usual. Just an overall fun listen. And, Erin Mallon, of course, does her masterful thing in this one bringing the story and characters to life.

Pleasantly surprised!
This was the first book I’ve ever listened to by this author. I was pleasantly surprised. This book was a lot different from what I expected from the blurb. Not super predictable. I loved the hero Ryan he’s is an all around good guy with a great heart. The heroine is a straightforward girl with a hard choice. She goes with her heart though. This gives a lot of different perspectives which was a change for me. I’m really intrigued for the next story between the best friends. I will anxiously await that one.

This was my first book by this author. This is a fun book about Ryan who saw a girl on the subway and felt like it was fate that he find her. Angie works for a celebrity site and helps Ryan look for the subway girl . This was an enjoyable, low angst book. Erin Mallon does a great job at narrating.

Getting what you didn't ask for
This is such a fun and interesting book. We have Ryan who is not a native New Yorker but he is here and looking for the love of his life. His parents have that kind of relationships where it was written in the stars and Ryan wants that for himself. After some bad previous relationships he is still optimistic he can find his forever love. When he spots her on the Subway he is determined to find her. Along comes Angie, native New Yorker and cynical as they come. She doesn't believe in fated love but she does believe in ratings and when she thinks she can help Ryan find his girl and boost their shows ratings she is all in. Little does Angie know that fate is coming for her and she will have a change of heart in the long run.
Loved this unusual love story where they take the long way around finding each other but in the end Ryan gets his girl and Angie learns maybe there is such a thing as fate.
Erin Mallon was marvelous narrating this book. I loved listening to her narrate this story. Great!

Lots of angst
The performance of the narrator was great. At no point was I lost on who was speaking.
The story is ok. There were parts that were interesting and kept me listening but at one stopping point it took me days to come back and finish the story. I’ve never liked characters that make things worse when ‘saving’ themselves. The female MC kicks the male out of her bed after the first night together and spends the next couple months lamenting on how he doesn’t like her. It does wrap up well and not rushed.

I was given this as a audiobook for a honest review. I wasn’t that impressed. I just couldn’t get into it. It didn’t hold my attention or make me wanting more. You absolutely must listen to this book!
Wow - just wow!
First of all - another spectacular narration by Erin Mallon! My Fave!
This story is excellent. A must-read! It's a modern-day spin on the old-fashioned "missed connection" that they used to publish in newspapers, where someone would spot another somewhere out there, perhaps on the subway, and there was a column in a newspaper or magazine that would publish a lot of this type of missed connections. If you read the column and recognized one that you thought might be, you could write-in to the publication and they'd connect you to the person who'd written to the column. The modern twist is that the guy who'd seen the gorgeous girl on the subway makes a website to find her, the website is found by a celebrity gossip online magazine, and it grows from there - the modern twist! It turns viral and they meet and see if they can make a relationship work in the public eye, with all of their dates on camera and posted and the tens of thousands of commends posted right along with it. Can an old fashioned missed connection make it in the modern era? Read (listen - Erin makes it better than reading the text!), and find out for yourselves! It is an amazing twist and turn at every new chapter!
Lisa Becker is a new-to-me author and I'm extremely happy to have been recommended this book and the preview of the book at the end (Starfish) is leading me to the next one that I will certainly be picking up quickly. I'm a new fan!

Not the book for me
I’ve enjoyed Lisa Becker’s books in the past, in fact Starfish is a 5 star read for me that I recommend all the time, but the writing style here did not work for me. I’m definitely in the minority though. The books switches through multiple POVs, more than just the two main MCs, and the in depth look into these side characters lives took away from the main couple for me. I ended up feeling that their connection was really shallow and not being invested in it.
Narration: Erin Mallon has such a unique voice , but I didn’t like that she was narrating for multiple POVs and would prefer her in dual/duet narration or as part of a multi-cast.

If you love all the classic romcoms
If you love all the classic romcoms, you’re going to want to read this book.
First, because there are a few references of those movies. Other movies too–filming, and telling a story, and images, have a great importance in the story, on multiple levels.
Also because it has the same spirit as those romcoms. All the steps and events are here. The meeting when they realize they have nothing in common, the building relationship that becomes a little more, all the obstacles, the misunderstanding… I had the strong–yet pleasant–feeling of watching an old classic like Pretty woman or Bridget Jones–okay, not so old, or is it?
I loved that the hero isn’t an alpha male for once. He’s a genuine nice guy, romantic, sweet, a great friend. And Angie is sure no damsel in distress. They’re different but they interact on equal terms.
There’s also a slight criticism of gossip rags, the media in general, how they induce some dreams of celebrity and fame in weaker minds, and how they can threaten/destroy someone personal life. It may have been a bit Manichean, but the message is clear.
The narration was great, with lots of emotions–and even the vapidity of a few characters–perfectly interpreted. It was fun, it was emotional, it was a bit sexy, what are you waiting for?

Such a fun book!
I really enjoyed this book, it was a lot of fun to listen to the audio! Erin Mallon did a fantastic job on all the narration.
I loved the banter, the movie and music references it really brought me into the story. I liked the way the relationship unfolded and you really rooted for this couple. Ryan and Angie were so cute, and I didn't want him to find the Subway Girl!
Recommended listen.

A fun ride on the love train
I’m so in love with Ryan and I thoroughly enjoyed his travel towards happy ever after.
The search for his dream girl got derailed a bit but the track he went down landed him a perfect match and it was worth listening in. Have fun.

A fun story!
What a fun story! I am in love with Ryan, he is a small town guy living in NY. there are great friendships in this book. I did have a little trouble keeping up with all the different characters. HEA. Erin Mallon does a fabulous job with the narration. She does a great male character voice. I definitely recommend this book.

Great story and narration
Love it, love it, love it! Such a fun story with fabulous characters. I love Erin Mallon's narration, she does the voices so well, I forgot I was listening to just the one person. She allowed me to really get sucked into the story. A really light-hearted yet emotional story, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was cheering them on in my head all the way through.

Fun
This was a cute and enjoyable romance about a man seeking the woman he saw on the subway.
