Publisher's Summary

To the outside world, Electra D’Aplièse seems to be the woman with everything: as one of the world’s top models, she is beautiful, rich and famous.

Yet beneath the veneer, Electra’s already tenuous control over her state of mind has been rocked by the death of her father, Pa Salt, the elusive billionaire who adopted his six daughters from across the globe. Struggling to cope, she turns to alcohol and drugs. As those around her fear for her health, Electra receives a letter from a complete stranger who claims to be her grandmother.

In 1939, Cecily Huntley-Morgan arrives in Kenya from New York to nurse a broken heart. Staying with her godmother, a member of the infamous Happy Valley set, on the shores of beautiful Lake Naivasha, she meets Bill Forsythe, a notorious bachelor and cattle farmer with close connections to the proud Maasai tribe. But after a shocking discovery and with war looming, Cecily has few options. Moving up into the Wanjohi Valley, she is isolated and alone. Until she meets a young woman in the woods and makes her a promise that will change the course of her life for ever.

Sweeping from Manhattan to the magnificent wide-open plains of Africa, The Sun Sister is the sixth instalment in Lucinda Riley’s multi-million selling epic series, The Seven Sisters.

I can't listen to this! Narrator is terrible!

I have enjoyed this series for 5 books and was awaiting the 6th book, to be shocked at the quality of the narration and that just ruined the entire story.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Disappointing

Compared to previous audiobooks in this series, The Sun Sister just does not hold up. The story is dull, blunt, very drawn out and predictable. There is nothing magical in this one, unlike in the rest of the series. Narrator’s voice for Electra very irritating. Happy that it is over - and yes, I have no curiosity about the last sister.

Not worth the wait!

Very disappointing! Dull, drawn out, juvenile, and lacking the in depth history of previous books.

I love the seven sister series, until this one.

I am on chapter 24 and having a hard time. The narrator for Electra is terrible. So far, the story is only drugs and alcohol abuse. The past located in Kenya is better, but not nearly the quality of Ms Riley's other books. I was so excited to get book #6, now pretty disappointed. I'll finish the story, if it gets any better I'll let you know.
Ok, finished it. Way below the writings in previous 7 sister books. Too much in your face political, woke, references. Really, How many times can you slip in Obama?
I'm anxious to hear about sister #7! I was disappointed to not have a sighting of Pasalt in this one.
Please, do not use same narrator!!!! This one was torture to listen to!

Disappointment on every level

This was dull, slow and the Narrator sounded like she was half asleep all the time. Nothing like the first 5 books in the series. Awful. Only finished so I would have the facts for book 7.

Change the narraters

I could not wait for the kindle version so decided on the audio books, the narraters voices are terribly whiny,

I love the 7 sisters.

I have listened to many books by Lucinda Riley and I have loved all of them, I am so sorry to say this but this narrator is really awful to listen to. I don't even understand what her accent is supposed to be. It is the worst I ever listened to. The story is still great but it was a terrible choice of a reader. Electra is a Swiss girl living in NY, why is she speaking like she is Creole or from the Caribbean? The voice just leaves u bored and cold, not interesting to listen to at all. I am really sorry!

Could’ve done without the politics...

I liked the characters, but I felt this one was pushing a political agenda. I wanted to tell the characters, “You know you’re going to regret fawning all over that arrogant, divisive man just because of his race.” Those who are aware will understand.

How to make a boring book even more boring

Use the wrong narrator.
I cant believe how bad this is - absolutely loved all the previous books in the series.
Really a bad effort - had expected so much more.

QUITE DISAPPOINTED

I have read or listened to all of the book in the series so far but found this one very disappointing. The narrator with her monosyllabic tone made listening very uninteresting. Thankfully another took on the charecters story in the past. I will still listen to the nexxt book in the series praying it will be a different narrator.

A little forced

The characterisation is weak and many parts of the story dragged on and on. The narration lacks the vivacity of Caroline Lee, who narrated the other sisters books. I struggled to finish the book. There was little romantic passion in this book, with damaged male characters. A big disappointment.

Good but...

Good story, but the voice of Electra was a bit odd. Difficult to describe. But the tone of the voice was borderline sarcastic sounding when the situation didn’t call for it.

Another great story

The seven sisters have never failed to grip me. This one I was a little worried about. Electra, rich supermodel was going to be a little tough for me to like. Or so I thought. Her character with all her flaws grew and took me on her journey. Along with Cecily on the remote African plains and an unexpected find that would change the course of her life. If you’ve read the others you won’t be surprised this is so good. If you haven’t start at book 1 and enjoy.

Compelling and beautiful

Another spellbinding book by Lucinda. I was absolutely addicted to the story lines, yet again, and found myself obsessed with the tales of the women involved. Cannot wait for more!

Just wonderful!!!

Another wonderful story from the Seven Sisters Series! I laughed, I cried & most of all I just couldn’t stop listening! I’m a huge fan of Lucinda’s work & these stories just get better & better! Loved the narration too & I’m hoping that it won’t be too long to wait until the 7th sister breezes in to our lives! Thank you!

Best narrator of the series. Great story.

This could quite possibly be my favourite book. It has a great pace where others have dragged a little. I think that is mostly driven by the fantastic narrator for Electra. She has a beautiful tone to her voice and really brings the story to life.

Oh my another amazing read

I was reluctant to start this series of books but they're living up to the hype from my friends. I wasn't looking forward to this one because of the 'self indulgent celebrity life style' of Electra.
So pleased I was too nosy to miss it out as it was another brilliant story line.
I'm writing this whilst I wait for the next one to download . . . .

Absolutely Brilliant!!!!

I have just finished this book number 6 of The Seven Sisters series !! What a journey or journey's !!! I've been completely absorbed since the start of lock down and the first book I read of Lucinda Rileys The Midnight Rose. Now I can't wait for the 7th book !! The narrators of all the books have been superb ! Highly recommend!! Thank you!

Yeah Nah not my cup of tea

struggled with this one. The narrator who read the sample of this at the end of the moon sister would have been a softer listen but ultimately the monotony of Electra's drug use grated on my nerves so much so couldn't get into it and wanted to return it.

Possibly the best yet !

This is one of my favourite stories. Its scope is huge, reaching from Africa to Manhattan, and through just so many issues. The writing is superb, the narrations, excellent. The book is a 5 star recommendation - bring on the next, I cant wait.

Ended up being a great story

I found this book a little harder to read/listen to. I guess drug/alcohol issues are something that makes me feel like I failed as my daughter is struggling to overcome these issues. I had a look within myself to see if I failed as a mother as Stella did.
Powerful story in the end I pray for our happy ending to continue as well.
