Story
Meet Rachel Walsh. She's been living it up in New York City, spending her nights talking her way into glamorous parties before heading home in the early hours to her hot boyfriend, Luke. But her sensible older sister showing up and sending her off to actual rehab wasn't quite part of her plan. She's only agreed to her incarceration because she's heard that rehab is wall-to-wall jacuzzis, gymnasiums and rock stars going cold turkey - plus it's about time she had a holiday.

Story
An achingly funny story from the author of the best-selling You Had Me at Hello. When Edie is caught in a compromising position at her colleagues' wedding, all the blame falls on her - turns out that personal popularity in the office is not that different from your school days. Shamed online and ostracised by everyone she knows, Edie's forced to take an extended sabbatical - ghostwriting an autobiography for hot new acting talent, Elliot Owen. Easy, right? Wrong.

Publisher's Summary
Eileen is sick of being 79.
Leena's tired of life in her 20s.
Maybe it's time they swapped places....
When overachiever Leena Cotton is ordered to take a two-month sabbatical after blowing a big presentation at work, she escapes to her grandmother Eileen's house for some overdue rest. Eileen is newly single and about to turn 80. She'd like a second chance at love, but her tiny Yorkshire village doesn't offer many eligible gentlemen.
Once Leena learns of Eileen's romantic predicament, she proposes a solution: a two-month swap. Eileen can live in London and look for love. Meanwhile Leena will look after everything in rural Yorkshire. But with gossiping neighbours and difficult family dynamics to navigate up north, and trendy London flatmates and online dating to contend with in the city, stepping into one another's shoes proves more difficult than either of them expected.
Leena learns that a long-distance relationship isn't as romantic as she hoped it would be and then there is the annoyingly perfect - and distractingly handsome - school teacher, who keeps showing up to outdo her efforts to impress the local villagers. Back in London, Eileen is a huge hit with her new neighbours, but is her perfect match nearer home than she first thought?

Narrator
Book was fun to hear but I was hearing the narrator’s mouth clicks all through! I had to stop listening several times so I cohld focus on something else.
The books itself is really nice and fun to hear. Light, yet has a message behind it.

easy and funny love story
Really nice book, sometimes funny, I love how it shows the world from young end old perspective, the love story in the book is expected from the beginning so there is not much anticipation, but still a great listen :)

Feel good- but not quite believable
I downloaded this book because I had enjoyed’The Flat Share’. However, This book wasn’t quite as well put together. Felt that the older characters were too old to be doing the things described, and I can’t see a reason for them having to be so old. Had they been 10 years younger, it would have been much more believable. It was a warm-hearted tale but perhaps a little trite and stretched the limits of reality a little too much.

Such an amazing book I haven’t stopped listening all day, I haven’t laughed at a book like this in a long time, so funny. Love the characters. Beth O’Leary is amazing I loved this one as much as the flat share and can’t wait for her to bring out another. I will 100% be listening to this book again and again.

Excellent book!
i bought this immediately after finishing Flatshare in hope it could be nearly half as good. I gave Flatshare 5* and this is even better! its a roller-coaster of emotions, often funny, sometimes gloriously sad, always brilliant! If Beth O'Leary isn't the successor to JK Rowling as a world
class writing sensation there's no justice in the world!

As close to perfect as you can get!!
Anyone who has read The Flatshare will have been waiting with bated breath for the new book by Beth O'Leary. And believe me, this does not disappoint! I'll be honest this would not normally be the type of book I would listen to but after reading the reviews for The Flatshare and loving it, I had pre-ordered The Switch and waited patiently. It was worth the wait and more, a book filled with fun, emotion and above all heart. Rarely have I laughed out loud so much. Special mention to Alison Steadman and Daisy Edgar-Jones, who both give a masterclass on how to perfectly capture the characters and lift them from the page, outstanding. I cannot recommend both books by Beth O'Leary highly enough.

Brilliant narration of a fab book!
I loved Beth O’Leary’s debut novel, The Flatshare and was hoping her second book, The Switch, would live up to her earlier work. I’m pleased to say it absolutely did! The Switch was a fun, heartwarming story that I enjoyed immensely. The narrators, Alison Steadman and Daisy Edgar-Jones were perfect choices for Eileen and Leena. 5 star performances all round!

Brilliant
Eileen Cotton OMG what an amazing woman, I need someone like her in my life, we all do!
When Leena is asked (told)to take a couple of months leave from her corporate job in London. After a chat with her grandmother Eileen she decides to head home to the Yorkshire Dales and swap lives with her. Eileen moves to London for two months and this is where all the fun begins as both fit into the others space.
Its written as a dual narrative alternating between the two, the conversations and banter between all the characters is fabulously written and narrated.
If you are a fan of Beth O’Leary’s debut novel The Flatshare you are going to love this one. Without a doubt it’s a five star read! I am very much looking forward to her future novels!!

Just couldn’t finish it
I’ve heard such good things about this book so I persevered over and over again but ultimately I ended up, after months of trying, putting it down and never returning to it. I found it boring with a very weak plot that just didn’t sustain the story. The premise was good but it just never lived up to it.
