Publisher's Summary

What occurs when the devil assaults your strength and remakes it into a weakness? J.D. “Danny” McCabe lived in a loving relationship with his wife for almost 20 years before the foundations of their marriage, family, and world began to collapse. Their marriage had always been rooted in the belief that trust is necessary in a healthy relationship. Certainly, Erin had always claimed that things wouldn’t, couldn’t work without trust. Yet one day, for reasons Danny could not understand, Erin developed suspicions of his every move. Phone calls, text messages, and work emails were fashioned into proof of infidelity, drug addiction, and a web of lies. She recruited her mom in her efforts, and together they forged the words of family, trust, and honesty into a symbolic hammer and battered him into the ground. Their allegations amassed, twisting reality and ultimately resulting in Danny’s involuntary hospitalization. Danny was forced to the edge and was damn near ready to jump. Then, God intervened. Erin’s shocking revelation, her third gift, lit the blind spots in his relationship that Danny had never before been able to resolve.

a dramatic divorce

It's not that I hated it, I enjoy dramatic shows and books, but to me it's just a divorce with some extra strings.... ugly, dirty, nasty divorce and everything that comes with it. i.e. name calling, accusations, threats etc. When I saw his TikTok and he said his wife tried killing him, I wanted more of that! But instead, it was the entire divorce proceeding. Maybe because I've worked in the system too long to enjoy this drama.

It’s ok

Very repetitive and long winded. You have to be very interested in every detail of a broken relationship and divorce. He reads every court decision. Not a bad story.

Most depressing book EVER!

I couldn’t take it… it was the most depressing book ever! It was like your bitter depressed friend, who is going through a horrible divorce. If you enjoy axe grinding verbal vomit from a scorned divorcée…enjoy!

Saw this on tik tok and worth the hype

Such a good story and even more impactful that the author is the narrator. It’s full of suspense and addicting. I haven’t finished a book this quickly since high school.

Not worth the credit

It is an interesting story but the problem is we only have 1 side from someone who is naturally going to be biased. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, probably even if it was free, but definitely not to spend money/a credit on it.

Great book

Honestly loved this. I found my self at moments crying with Dan, and at others, thrusting my fist into the air and clapping at his achievements. Would definitely recommend

100% true

If your a man who has been through divorce court you know the cards are stacked against you. My advice is don't get married if you can help it. I don't pay allimony, but do know what it's like to have an evil ex-wife who will not tell you about the kids school or games. I pay my child support and do as I am told. The court in South Carolina is a birthright state and you guessed right the mom gets majority of the custody. 2 weekends for a father who didn't drink, do drugs, cheat, or abuse anyone in the house. It's a shame, but our reality.

Couldn’t put down

This was a great listen. I listened to the whole book in 24 hours. It’s sickening to know that the justice and civil systems can be so wrong. Loved his positive message at the end.

A Surprise

saw this on Ticktok and thought I'd give it a try. I didn't know what to expect and initially the author seemed to portray himself as a Saint and I was put off . Glad I didn't give up as this was a roller coaster and as you head into the second half of the book it was absolutely gripping . can't say too much or it would be a spoiler.
