Publisher's Summary

Book Two picks up directly where Book One leaves off in 1994. When Ransom Lawson met Willamina “Billy” Stanton on a deserted highway outside of Chatham, New Mexico, neither knew they were meeting their eternal soul mate. But is love enough to permanently bind two people from two vastly different lifestyles?

Coming in second to a motorcycle club and the unpredictable dangers that life presents is more than Ransom thinks Billy can handle. She deserves better and he tells her so. After his heart-wrenching rejection, Billy returns west to resume her “old life” to focus on her studies, where she thrives as a theater major at a local university in Northern California. Ransom's life is too entrenched in the MC headed by his father and current club Prez, Slade Lawson. Though Ransom is the youngest of Slade's twin sons, he's grooming Ransom to one day take over as the leader of the Immortals. But does Ransom want that responsibility especially when the honor is the birthright of his older twin brother Harley, the weak, impressionable son with the darkened soul?

Will Ransom and Billy find their way back to one another with all the obstacles they face, or are the pressures to conform to their family expectations end them for good? Will Harley, Pitch, and Digger see the error in their vile ways? Is Slade ready to put his hound dog tendencies behind him? And if so, is it too late for him and Claudia? Or has an unexpected attraction she has to another sealed their marriage's fate? The gangs all back with a couple of newcomers added into the mix.

Contains mature themes.

First Book was better !!

The First book was better because it focused more on the main characters. This one. was split evey between Ransom & Billy and the supporting characters.

Thrilling!

Although the book was a roller coaster ride from the beginning, the last chapter makes you immediately want to get to the next book.

Wow!

Wow! DA Young has blown it out of the water with this gritty but sexy thriller! Reminds me of Sidney Sheldon but with a signature all her own.

Mixed feelings

The Ties that Bind is the first book that I've read from this author and I'm on the fence about it. I dislike that she jumps around so much and tell the story from different character's POV. It's annoying. I kind of get why she's doing it to a certain extent, but for whole chapters to be told by insignificant characters, is too much in my opinion. I like Marcus, Billy, and Ransom and wish she would stay focused on Billy and Ransom's POV.

Mari is one of my favorite narrators but her accent was horrendous in this book. lol It's actually cringe worthy. 😬 She was trying for a Spanish accent and it sounded more Jamaican, to me. This is the 2nd book I've listened to where she needed an accent, the other she needed a Creole accent, and it was this same weird Jamaican sounding accent. I also think her voice was too mature for Billy's character, IMO.

I'm not 100% sure if I will be buying the other installments in this series for the reasons listed above, but I may try another book by this author.

The ties that bind book 2

Loved this story it was sad how the Lawson family father treated his wife and children he abused his wife mentally and abused both his sons the same way leading to Harley becoming a monster. and crazy lauralye becoming a renegade agent I hope the author puts the last two books on audiobook the two narrator made this book come to life I saw book three and four are on kindle but she would be doing an unjust to this series please put book three and four on audio.

Kept me on edge

This is part 2 of Ransom and Billy’s love story. The story is great. I enjoyed the character development of the other characters like Billy’s Father Marcus and Ransom’s Father Slade. It makes the story so much deeper. This book definitely is a wider and longer series but Ransom and Billy will still be together. Great Book!
