Publisher's Summary

Things on my wishlist:

  1. Start a new, awesome job
  2. Create the perfect dating app
  3. Stop dating douchebags

Things that actually happen:

  1. Got a job in my dream tech company
  2. Created a workplace dating app for said company
  3. Was matched with Bennett, who happens to own the company and is also my brother’s best friend

They say when it rains, it pours, but this is some serious BS. It doesn’t help that Bennett was the man I had my last one night stand with. It definitely doesn’t help that he seems to want me just as much as I want him. The issue is, he won’t do anything about it, but then we’re forced to attend a tech conference in Vegas, and I think it may just be what I need to turn this thing around.

New goal: get my brother’s best friend out of my system by all means necessary.

Discovered a new "favorite list" author

I enjoyed this book. It was well written and performed. I have a MAJOR pet peeve about mispronunciations during a performance and this one met my standards (I am a linguist).

Immature, barely any narration from his POV

The writing, language, character motivations are all very immature- it reads more like two college sophomores than two adult professionals. For instance - the woman receives harassing phone calls and instead of reporting it, says “I’ll ignore it and let the next assistant deal with it”. When she finally tells the boss, he does nothing even though the harasser is his ex. There are a ton more examples - slamming back shots with the boss on a work trip, making out with him at a club where he brought a date, the brother that is creepily possessive of her... and if I seem to be harping on her more than Bennet it’s because of the 19 chapters I’ve listened to this far (> 1/3 of the book), Jacob has only narrated 2 at the very beginning. It leads me to wonder why the author even gave those two chapters to his POV.

DNF.

The Trouble with Love

This is a sweet and heartfelt story. Morgan and Bennett are perfectly matched but they do have their issues. I loved how the navigated through all the ups and downs. Morgan was a little dramatic but the way Bennett stood by her side was amazing. I enjoyed this story.
Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan are absolutely fantastic narrators.

AWWWWWWWW

This story was so sweet!! And ok yes it had the typical romance “couple has misunderstanding that breaks them up” but this one didn’t feel forced into the story as she had been dropping nuggets about it the whole way through so it felt like a natural progression of the story. The guy never gave up on the girl but never pushed her either. But he made sure to stand by her side the whole time.

I said “awww” so many times!

Now onto the narrators: it’s Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose!! I LOVE THEM!!

They are both on my favorites list so this was an easy book to listen to!

LOVE!!!

Fully rounded story

The Trouble with love was seriously heartwarming, sexy and totally sweet. The storyline was great and everything around the dating app was really cool and I loved hearing more about it. I really enjoyed Morgan and Bennett. They had some mad chemistry. I loved their fun banter. I will say that I really wish we had more of Bennett's POV. It felt like it was a bit heavier in Morgan's POV and I would have loved more of Bennett.

I really loved these narrators. Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan are fantastic together. Morgan has this really strong and dominating voice. I just love it. Rose is seriously fantastic and a great ying to Morgan's yang.

It was pretty good

I enjoyed the book a lot until I was about 2 hours from finishing. Morgan was a little extra and her not listening to Bennett was annoying. I wish the ending was a little stronger. If it’s not a series with their story being continued through other stories, I like to know if they have kids etc. I feel like it could have been wrapped up a little better. Narrators were great!

Playing cupid with an app

This was a great listen, my first by this author. Morgan and Bennett already had a chance encounter before she starts working for her dream company after graduating college. This leads her to find out that her boss is the father of the most amazing one night stand that she still can't get out of her head. (which also turns out to be her brothers best friend) She doesn't want that to ruin her opportunities to succeed in the business that she truly loves so she tries to steer clear of him. It doesn't help when they are sent on a work conference together back to her home in Vegas and secretly matched by her own app that she designed and the company helped her on a trial launch. All of this spells disaster when she is soon harassed by Bennett's ex wife on his past. This is where it gets emotional between the two of them, and throw in her big brother getting married and her sworn off mom needing help. It's a tear jerker at this point but so worth it.

The narrators are amazing, I don't think I've heard these two before but they are great with each character as well as working together.
