Publisher's Summary

Things on my wishlist:

  1. Start a new, awesome job
  2. Create the perfect dating app
  3. Stop dating douchebags

Things that actually happen:

  1. Got a job in my dream tech company
  2. Created a workplace dating app for said company
  3. Was matched with Bennett, who happens to own the company and is also my brother’s best friend

They say when it rains, it pours, but this is some serious BS. It doesn’t help that Bennett was the man I had my last one night stand with. It definitely doesn’t help that he seems to want me just as much as I want him. The issue is, he won’t do anything about it, but then we’re forced to attend a tech conference in Vegas, and I think it may just be what I need to turn this thing around.

New goal: get my brother’s best friend out of my system by all means necessary.

Discovered a new "favorite list" author

I enjoyed this book. It was well written and performed. I have a MAJOR pet peeve about mispronunciations during a performance and this one met my standards (I am a linguist).

Immature, barely any narration from his POV

The writing, language, character motivations are all very immature- it reads more like two college sophomores than two adult professionals. For instance - the woman receives harassing phone calls and instead of reporting it, says “I’ll ignore it and let the next assistant deal with it”. When she finally tells the boss, he does nothing even though the harasser is his ex. There are a ton more examples - slamming back shots with the boss on a work trip, making out with him at a club where he brought a date, the brother that is creepily possessive of her... and if I seem to be harping on her more than Bennet it’s because of the 19 chapters I’ve listened to this far (> 1/3 of the book), Jacob has only narrated 2 at the very beginning. It leads me to wonder why the author even gave those two chapters to his POV.

DNF.

The Trouble with Love

This is a sweet and heartfelt story. Morgan and Bennett are perfectly matched but they do have their issues. I loved how the navigated through all the ups and downs. Morgan was a little dramatic but the way Bennett stood by her side was amazing. I enjoyed this story.
Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan are absolutely fantastic narrators.

Didn’t like the M/C. Couldn’t finish

Too much female h POV . Jacob only narrated a few. I didn’t want to hear her constantly lusting over him left and right . The entire length of the book that I read was her listing over him . There was nothing to the book besides her constantly talking about how hot he looks, how much she wants him,her being jealous, blah blah blah . DNF .

AWWWWWWWW

This story was so sweet!! And ok yes it had the typical romance “couple has misunderstanding that breaks them up” but this one didn’t feel forced into the story as she had been dropping nuggets about it the whole way through so it felt like a natural progression of the story. The guy never gave up on the girl but never pushed her either. But he made sure to stand by her side the whole time.

I said “awww” so many times!

Now onto the narrators: it’s Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose!! I LOVE THEM!!

They are both on my favorites list so this was an easy book to listen to!

LOVE!!!

Fully rounded story

The Trouble with love was seriously heartwarming, sexy and totally sweet. The storyline was great and everything around the dating app was really cool and I loved hearing more about it. I really enjoyed Morgan and Bennett. They had some mad chemistry. I loved their fun banter. I will say that I really wish we had more of Bennett's POV. It felt like it was a bit heavier in Morgan's POV and I would have loved more of Bennett.

I really loved these narrators. Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan are fantastic together. Morgan has this really strong and dominating voice. I just love it. Rose is seriously fantastic and a great ying to Morgan's yang.

Another great audiobook! Workplace romance!!

I really enjoy a sweet and steamy story in audiobook and Claire Contreras once again delivered exactly what I like. This was the perfect companion for work and mom life. The storyline was not overly complicated, but I enjoyed how the romance developed and the journey to the HEA. The only thing I wished the story had explored more was Morgan’s past. It is alluded to several times but we don’t really get resolution for some of the horrible things she survived in her past. Overall this was a really enjoyable read that stays quite lighthearted despite questionable things in the heroine’s past.

Morgan is an app developer fresh out of college hoping to land her dream job. Everything seems to be going well until reality crashes in. She had a one night stand one night after being stood up on her birthday. On her first day on the job, she quickly realizes that her one night stand is also her boss and brother’s best friend. Their chemistry is still off the charts but now they have to work together.

A workplace romance is one of my favorite tropes so I was 100% ready for this read and while there wasn’t any spicy office action, it was a steamy, romantic story. I really liked both characters and how their story evolved. The narration was superb, which is unsurprising with Jacob Morgan and Virginia Rose. I always enjoy both narrators and this audiobook was no exception.
