Story
Ambitious ice queen and corporate lawyer Felicity Simmons has spent her life focused on one thing: scuttling up the career ladder. She's achingly close to taking charge of a media empire for her boss when she's sent to investigate a South Bronx charity that helps homeless people's pets. Has the charity made off with her boss's generous donation? And, who on earth is that gorgeous soft-butch veterinarian who looks as if she could toss a Shetland pony over one shoulder? Not that Felicity has any interest in some opinionated Amazon or her adorable fleabag of a dog.

Beautiful Conclusion!
"Art is never a guarantee. Make sure that the people in your life are."
"Decisions are a strange thing. What you think is the right decision at the moment could turn out to be the worst decision you've ever made."
"No one should strive to be someone else. Only the best version of themselves. Even in their flaws, there is perfection."
This is the third book in the Eve Sumptor series. It could be read as a standalone, but it is much better to read the previous two books, "Something About Eve" and "Flawed Perfection" to get the depth of the relationship between Eve and Lainey. The therapy sessions with Dr. Woodrow really show us into Eve's inner turmoil.
Jourdyn Kelly does a wonderful job showing a myriad of emotions both individually as well as within the relationships. In the first two books, Eve battled some incredible demons. In this book, she is battling her toughest opponent: herself.
You will laugh, get angry, probably cry, and cheer!
The success of a book is when the author makes you feel. Jourdyn does an excellent job of making the characters believable. I loved the boys' development in this book! Bella was adorable!
Tessa Stavers does a great job capturing the emotions of the characters.

Wow! What a journey! I absolutely loved this novel and the following novel. I just wish the first book was available in audio as well. I could not turn it off! Jourdyn Kelly, you are an amazing writer, this series is more than I could have possibly wished for. The depth of characters and the narrator Tessa Stavers made for some of the best audio books I have experienced. Great story
This is a great story you don't want to miss, an emotional drama, raw and brave, with captivating characters. Eve Sumptor is a complicated rich woman, intimidating, sensitive and smart. She is caught between the woman she loves and admire, and her handsome husband, whom she married after an affair with Lainey. An intense psychological drama, about facing fears and decisions. A spicy romantic affair that turn your heart around, Eve and Lainey are charismatic, strong and sweet. Is well written and narrated, I definitely recommend it.

Fitting Conclusion
Ms. Kelly pens a terrific end to Eve’s story. The continued growth of Eve is central of course, but the realizations and developments with other characters are well written. I love the segments with the doc which really gives the reader/listener a deeper insight into the minds of Eve, Lainey, Adam, and a bit of Willamena herself. Ms. Stavers does a very good job voicing the different characters and capturing the sentiments expressed from Ms. Kelly’s characters.
