Light and Easy - very enjoyable
If you could sum up The Undomestic Goddess in three words, what would they be?
Fun, light and easy
What other book might you compare The Undomestic Goddess to and why?
Just pick any other Sophie Kinsella/Madeline Wickham story (Shopaholic series, Twenties-Girl) - like a TV sitcom. Makes you laugh, easy to follow and you can pick the story up very quickly.
What about Phoebe James’s performance did you like?
I did enjoy Phoebe James's performance - I do like the English narrators as these stories are so
If you could take any character from The Undomestic Goddess out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The main character - Samantha Sweeting. The up and coming brilliant lawyer who makes the biggest mistake possible and in a haze of fog and in shock, flees the city and ends up working as a housekeeper to a slightly neurotic
Any additional comments?
Fun story for the light-hearted. A very enjoyable story - great for first timer's getting into Audobooks.

Good read
Although the ending was a bit abrupt, it was overall an entertaining book and highly recommendable for a light read

Great story, poor narrator
What did you like best about The Undomestic Goddess? What did you like least?
I love the story; I have read the paper version several times and it's my favourite Kinsella book. But the narrator was just plain irritating in the Audible version.
What did you like best about this story?
The story is very funny and is touching at times. I like the characters and the interaction between them.
How could the performance have been better?
Phoebe James' narrating style was strange. I didn't like the exaggerated 'posh' voice she used for Trish, and she also placed the wrong vocal emphasis on some of the phrases. I don't think I'd want to listen to any more books read by her.
Did The Undomestic Goddess inspire you to do anything?
Not really - it was just an easy story if you don't want to have to think too hard!

Give the book a better chance
An easy listen and quite a good story but spoilt by the reader! - so many times a good book is spoilt by the reader, I sometimes wonder how they get the job!

An unlikely plot made plausible
There is nothing wrong with an unlikely series of coincidences as Bronte's Jane Eyre proves, and although there's nothing quite as far fetched in here, the basic premise of a lawyer who can't cook turning into a housekeeper never fails to engage.
This is a fun book, that gently makes fun equally of the 'working class' rich and less gently of the urban snobs of the city.
The rural idyll is perhaps a little overdone, but it's a fun listen and there are enough twists and turns to keep you hooked.

Absolutely Fabulous!
This was my first Sophie Kinsella and I enjoyed every minute of it. I found the legal story line very entertaining and well done. Being a former lawyer and now domestic goddess myself I can say that the author's version of that world is spot on. However all you need to enjoy this book is a sense of humour and a liking for a bit of romance. Gardening will never seem the same - you will have to listen to find out what I mean. I will definitely listen to more from this author.

easy listening
Very low maintenance book, with little brain power required, which was exactly what I was after. Funny, romantic. I really enjoyed it, the main Characters are a little unbelievable on occasions, but that's what makes a lot of the humour.

An amazing little number not in black!
I enjoyed this from being to end. The undomestic goddess had me laughing, and by the end shouting out loud for her not to do it!. It's very well written but you'll be begging for more chapters when you get to the end.

Lovely story, god awful reader
lovely easy listen but the narrator was awful. Aside from the ridiculously posh voice, her intonations were bizarre, for example "booTEASE" instead of "booties" ?! I cringed every time I hears her say the character's name "Samaaaaaaantha". Just awful. Such a shame.

Too far fetched for me!
This features a lawyer who has an IQ of 158. She can do nothing domestic at all. SHe finds herself agreeing to being a domestic servant. I can't suspend disbelief long enough not to get extrememly annoyed with the silly woman. I have enjoyed many of Sophie Kinsella's books but this is a waste of space!

Corny but cute
After some very heavy reading, this rom-com was the relief and light-heartedness needed. Sweet and at times cringe worthy but a nice overall message.

Ugh
I just hated this book. Couldn’t listen to the whole thing as the main character was so pathetic and annoying. The narrating wasn’t good either - Sounded too fake. No thanks.
