Raise your hand if you’ve ever done this. Written a racy message and sent it to—oops—the wrong person.

Yeah, me too. Except, I sent my latest Tales of a Naughty Virgin column detailing my fantasies about my hot, charming, thoroughly bangable next-door-neighbor to…my entire company.

Did I mention I’m a children’s book editor?

Well, I was.

*Facepalm*

At least the column goes viral, but I’m still the gal who gets fired for her not-safe-for-work thoughts about the so-called “Mister Sexy Pants”.

Now I need a job stat, so I jump on the first opportunity. And I come face to face with my new boss.

Mr. Sexy Pants himself.

Item number one on my to-do list? Make sure my boss never finds out his alter ego…since all of New York knows I want Mister Sexy Pants to punch my virgin club card.

This is another fun, flirty & sexy romance in a new series by Lauren Blakely. Anyone who knows me, knows I don't enjoy adult virgin romance but this author knows how to do it right and she always changes my mind. I really enjoyed the banter and honesty between these two characters so much. The sexy was HOT HOT HOT and the HEA was perfect! And of course I feel like it goes without saying that the narration was perfection, Teddy & Vanessa are Rockstar narrators!

5 STARS! Flirty, fiery feel-good secret identity/workplace romance!

Lauren Blakely always seem to give me exactly what I need to read, and The Virgin Next Door was precisely the distraction I needed this week. This sexy, sweet and swoony virgin romance was told within a workplace storyline with a bit of a secret identity/next-door-neighbor spin that oozed with charm, wit and heat. Lauren’s contemporaries and romcoms are amongst my favorite stories to read, and I’ve been really excited about The Dating Game series. I listened to the audio version of The Virgin Next Door, narrated in duet by Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin, and it was a perfect pairing that was wonderfully produced and expertly performed. This playful and passionate contemporary romance pairs a virgin book editor slash virgin-dating-in-the-city covert columnist with a cult following and the super-hot bicycle/flower shop owner—who are both secretly crushing on each other—in a bit of a forbidden romance.

Veronica Valentine was naturally curious and has investigated enough to know what she wants and how she wants it—she even had a list! She was no demure, quivering virgin. She was effervescent and bold, confident and imaginative and just waiting for the right man to meet her high expectations and rise to the challenge. She was right to wait, because she met her match in Milo “Mr. Sexy Pants” Dawson. There was just so much to love about this book! First, the chemistry between Veronica and Milo was positively electric. Everything about them was hot, from their flirty banter, the titillating text messages, the way they jived both in the shop and out of it. For goodness sakes, even their dogs – and that cat! – were adorable. I had so many favorite moments, from Milo learning about Veronica’s side gig to them ticking off the items on her to-do list, I was rooting for this couple from the start.

One of the things I love best about Blakely’s writing is that it’s so sex positive. The virgin trope can sometimes be a bit awkward if it’s not done well and with deliberation. This is never the case with Lauren’s virgin romances, though, and The Virgin Next Door is no exception. Lauren Blakely’s romances aren’t known to be particularly angsty or overly dramatic, but she does include a splash of conflict to challenge her characters. She pens love stories that aren’t driven by drama, but instead are resolved with maturity, and that alone guarantees me that they’ll always be a pleasure to read from cover-to-cover.

Light-hearted and fun, The Virgin Next Door was a feel-good, fire-filled, falling-in-love story full of those can’t-keep-my-hands-off-you, crush-turns-to-more vibes that I just can’t get enough of! I was completely swept up in Milo and Veronica’s romance and burned through Teddy and Emma’s perfect performance in a single day binge-listen! Five smooches from me for The Virgin Next Door by Lauren Blakely!

The Virgin Next Door

Absolutely delightful!

Seriously I couldn’t get enough of this one. I know my favourite character in this book is Veronica by far. I loved her attitude. 100% loved that she owns being a virgin she just isn’t ready to give someone that gift yet. Guess what THAT IS OK! I think that is what I liked the most; usually I am not a fan of adult virgin romances. But this was so far from any of those.
Veronica is so boldly herself, even when a mishap happens and she loses a lot she picks herself right back up and just figures it out. I want to high five her.

Milo took me a little more to come around to, I get that he has been bitten and is a little shy. But I will say he doesn’t second guess jumping all in. Is he cautious yes but again that is understandable.
What a breath of fresh air this book was from what I have been listening to.

Teddy & Vanessa go together like peanut butter and jam, their voices just complement each other I loved it.
I loved the POV of the cat and the bonus epilogue ;) it’s a treat.
Seriously I highly recommend.

Loved

I loved this book. The characters are quirky and so easy to love and root for. My little dog lover heart melted with how much page time the little fur balls and their cat trouble maker got. Loved every minute. Highly recommend to new and old Lauren Blakely listeners.

Super cute

Veronica and Milo have an adorable meet cute that turns into so much more. From their random run-in in a bakery to seeing each other again on the street, these two neighbors were destined to meet. Now, if only Veronica can keep the fact that she’s been writing and fantasying about her sexy neighbor a secret.

Another great fun, flirty romcom

Lauren Blakely delivers another totally endearing, scorchingly hot, and utterly charming rom-com!

The Virgin Next Door gives us flirting at it's finest, and Milo and Veronica are absolutely smitten before they even properly meet. Veronica is a children's book editor by day, and a secret virgin romance columnist on the side. She's honest and frank, and she wants everyone to embrace pleasure and positivity. When she loses her job due to a mis-sent email, she find herself working for the unwitting subject of one of her columns!

Milo, whom Veronica has dubbed Mr. Sexy Pants in her column, is fun and flirtatious, but also takes Veronica seriously, really gets to know her, and genuinely wants to see her embrace life on her terms and do something that she loves. They get swept up in each other's orbit, and even though Milo is on a dating hiatus, he can't help but be drawn in by Veronica.

The narration, by Vanessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton, is fresh, flirty and so much fun. Teddy gives Milo so much energy and enthusiasm. Vanessa perfectly portrays Veronica's attitude and boldness, even though boldness is the last thing people expect from a virgin for some reason.

In classic Lauren Blakely style, we also have amazing pets that contribute to the love affair, and Trudy, Hot Stuff and Studmuffin have personalities all their own. They definitely get the assist in making this love match go the distance.

Fun, Flirty & Fantastic

Anytime I read a new Lauren Blakely book I am transported back to a familiar world filled with friendship and love. The Virgin Next Door is the first book in Lauren's new Dating Games Series. This is a fantastic, fun, flirty, feel-good romance that will fill our heart with joy.

Veronica Valentine is a witty 26-year-old children's book editor/anonymous column writer (spicy column)/social media content creator and virgin, extraordinaire sex toy expert. After a little mishap caused by her mischievous cat causes Veronica her editing job, she finds herself face to face with the object of her every fantasy, Mr. Sexy Pants, her new boss.

After his last relationship failed miserably, Milo Dawson, is done dating. His only focus is his flower/bike shop and his one true love, Truly, his dog, but Milo can't stop thinking about the quirky woman with the skull earrings and devilish underwear. The woman who may just make him change his mind about dating. The woman who is now his new employee.

I absolutely loved both Veronica and Milo. They brought out the best in each other. Their meet cute (or cutes) were hilarious. It fit their relationship perfectly. I loved how much Veronica's confidence turned him on and I loved how willing he was to help her fulfill her fantasies. Lauren's portrayal of Veronica was empowering in so many ways. Despite being a virgin, Veronica was a woman who knew what she wanted. Her virginity wasn't a barrier to her being sexually aware. Not having had actual sex was a choice she made. It isn't that she was waiting for marriage or anything like that, Veronica was very aware of her sexual needs and desires. I loved her confidence in talking openly about sex and pleasure. She was independent, talented, and so outspoken. She was sexually adventurous and had no filter in expressing her desires.

Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin's narration was excellent. They were the perfect Milo and Veronica bringing their characters to life and giving them their own personalities.

As always, Lauren's books never fail to take me to my happy place. Hers are stories that celebrate love. She gives us this world that we can escape to that is filled with all types of love and acceptance. A world I can only hope we get to experience in real life one day.

Sweet sexy perfection

What a fun, sweet, sexy and angst free read. Just so you know, I listened to the audio version, and it was a delight to listen to, made even more enjoyable by perfect narration from Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin, they, just like Veronica and Milo, are a match made in heaven. Even their dogs are cute together. In fact Milo may just be THE perfect book boyfriend - we just need to quell his idea of a dating hiatus (don’t you hate it when an ex does a number on your book boyfriend?). The pull between Mr Sexy Pants and Miss Cute Devil Butt/Giltter Gal is strong though, and listening to them skirt around their attraction is so much fun. Their flirty texts are brilliant, I love their bantering, and let’s not forget those cute pets, StudMuffin, HotStuff and Trudy. A perfect beach read to relax, entertain and bring a smile to your face. I loved it.

A Brilliant Funny, Sexy Story

I've listened to the whole book on the first day of release and absolutely loved it! This book has had me laughing & smiling all day long while I worked (I'm self employed & WFH so audio books often soundtrack my days).
I absolutely loved this story and will definitely listen to it again, as well as looking forward to the other ones in the series, that are mentioned at the end.
This book has a brilliant half hour prequel on Lauren Blakely's YouTube channel called 'Mr Sexy Pants' which I recommend listening to first. It isn't essential, but it's a lovely way to start to the book.
Both the YouTube prequel and the audio book are narrated fantastically well by Vanessa Edwin & Teddy Hamilton.

Great listen for a hot summer!

This was such a great listen for a hot summer day! I love Milo and Veronica, they’re amazing people and amazing together. Their struggles felt real, and the book had a perfect balance between problems and solutions, hard times and fun times. Just don’t listen to it while you’re working, trust me. Their fun times are too distracting to get any work done!

I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book
