We were brainwashed by society into building our life on the unquestioned belief that without money, power, success, approval, romance, etc., we cannot be happy. Suppose there is a way of waking up from all that, where what is false and neurotic within you would drop with little or no effort on your part and your eyes would open to the reality of joy surrounding you. Story
Awareness awakens you to the truth that you possess everything you need right now to be happy and fulfilled. Happiness is your natural state. You don't need to do anything to acquire it; you only need to drop something. This audiobook shows you what that is. There is not a single person who ever gave time to being aware who’s quality of life didn't change. You see life differently because you are different. You respond to people and situations differently. You see things you have never seen before. Beautiful things. You're much more energetic, much more alive.

Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Story
In this book of key spiritual teachings from unpublished discourses, the great Advaita Master, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, teaches us that we are not limited to the body. Because of our mistaken body identity, we feel separate from what we truly are. Our identification with the body and mind subjects us to endless cycles of pleasure and pain, desire and fear, which cause us to search beyond ourselves for that which we believe we lack.

Love is selfless
- By El Bruno tal on 01-21-18
Publisher's Summary
Sooner or later there arises in every human heart the desire for holiness, spirituality, God, call it what you will. One hears mystics speak of a divinity all around them that is within our grasp, that would make our lives meaningful and beautiful and rich, if we could only discover it. Instead, there is heartache everywhere, loneliness, fear, confusion, inner conflict, outer conflict.
In this spiritual masterpiece, Anthony de Mello opens you to the possibility that there is a way of getting rid of all of that. There is a way to transcend the sad condition wherein you are always wanting to change yourself, wherein your self-intolerance grows with every effort you make to improve yourself at the cost of struggle and pain. Anthony de Mello invites you to suppose a way of being in which you desist from all efforts to change yourself and from all self-dissatisfaction. Would you then think that you were doomed to go to sleep having passively accepted everything in you and around you?
The Way to Love reveals that there is another way besides laborious self-pushing on the one hand and stagnant acquiescence on the other. It is the way of self-understanding. These things in you that you struggle to fix just need to be understood. If you understood them, they would change, and you would discover that here and now is all is well. Though everything seems a mess, all is well. You would discover that you are already happy and fulfilled right now, and always have been, though you don’t yet know it.

I love this book, but unfortunately the audio is not very good. Too many flawed pieces in the audio in which, apparently, a word or two are missing. Would love to see this great book with a better audio.

Bad audio quality
I heard a lot of great things about this book, so I was excited to listen to it. The audio quality, totally ruined it for me though. I wasn't too thrilled with the content either. Maybe it's because I've read a lot of self-help books and I've heard a lot of these ideas before. Maybe someday I'll buy a physical copy of the book and see if that clicks with me more.

Highest order wisdom, horrible quality production.
Clear, direct, absolutely zero sugar coating of concepts for the sake of filling book pages. Of the most divine wisdom teachings I've ever heard.
That being said, this audio book production from the narrator to the engineer is among the worst I've ever heard or experienced. I wouldn't actually recommend this book in this form to anyone who wasn't a well read scholar of philosophy, theology, Eastern religion, or mysticism already, as the concepts are delivered extremely cut and dry, while being some of the deepest and most challenging to realize and integrate. Not only is listening to it an unpleasant experience from beginning to end, the poor quality has the potential to undermine the value of the wisdom if one is at all turned off by the experience.

I began this book after listening to Awareness by the same author. Real wisdom, clearly and simply expressed
This is a wonderful book, and one I intend to return to again and again for a reminder of essential truths that are so easy to forget.
I would go so far as to say this short book has the highest wisdom-per-word ratio of any book I can remember reading! And is a reminder in itself that real truth and wisdom is most clearly expressed through brevity and simplicity
