Publisher's Summary
From the author of The Proposal, a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick!
One of Cosmopolitan's 33 Books to Get Excited About in 2018!
A feel-good romance to warm your heart, for fans of Jo Watson, Sarah Morgan and Holly Martin. A groomsman and his last-minute guest are about to discover if a fake date can go the distance in this "charming, warm, sexy gem of a novel" (Roxane Gay).
On the eve of his ex's wedding festivities, Drew Nichols is minus a plus one. Until a power outage strands him with the perfect candidate for a fake girlfriend....
Agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she gets stuck with in an elevator is not something Alexa Monroe would normally do. But Drew's proposal proves hard to resist.
After their wedding date turns into a whole weekend of fun in San Francisco, Drew and Alexa return to their all-consuming careers - his in LA and hers in Berkeley. Too bad they can't stop thinking about each other....
It could be the long-distance dating disaster of the century - or Drew and Alexa could be just a flight away from what each of them truly wants.

Horrible
I tried for a month with this book but could not get past chapter 7. The stereotypes, the sexism and the over the top narration make it a horrible book for any woman to listen. It actually made me angry a couple of times. Stay away.

Quite dull
Unfortunately I had to force myself to ‘almost’ finish this. I wanted to love this book so much but it feel flat. The most exciting thing about it was the various types of food the characters constantly ate.
Performance wasn’t great. They all spoke in the same tone which was very disappointing. Perhaps it would have worked better with a different reader. Saying that, nothing really happened. Felt a bit like a high school love story were a girl falls for the cute popular boy, not adults at all.

Pure escapism
I thoroughly enjoyed this - it was an easy listen on long dog walks, well narrated, an easy storyline that touched on a few tougher subjects without getting too heavily into them! I'm a huge Sarah morgan fan and this reminded me of her Manhatton series! Will be buying the rest of the series.

Light Entertainment
I enjoyed the story and the narrator, very easy to listen to. Despite the rolling of my eyes at some of the bad decisions of the leading cast, I enjoyed their character growth and the story twists. Nothing too out of the ordinary here but worth a listen for the fun of it

Good read, but could've been better.
Nice light hearted story, but was extremely predictable. I also think that it could have been a bit more descriptive, in order to truly draw the reader in.

A good listen
Really enjoyed this listen. Simple and delightful tale of two people afraid to fall in love with a bit of diversity thrown in for good measure. Liked the narrators voice, nice pace and tone. Will go in search of other books by this author and/or narrator.

So much potential
This is a cute „how we met“ Story. The way the two interact is sweet . I believe the storyline could have been exploited more. I felt the story was a little rushed and the build of the relationship could have been a more detailed, so that the listener really connects with the couple. The switch between the narrators underlined the relationship development. In this story there is a lot more potential for cuteness, makeups, battles and love.

It’s fine but that’s about it
You want a pulpy romance, this will get you most of the way there. Moments of cringe. Still, it was okay.

So hard to get through
Don’t bother, this book was infuriating!
It should have been called Root and Boot.
Boring and repetitive
