Publisher's Summary
As seen on The Today Show!
The new, exhilarating New York Times best-selling romance from the author of The Proposal, a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club pick!
Maddie and Theo have two things in common:
- Alexa is their best friend
- They hate each other
After an "oops, we made a mistake" night together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa's wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they're comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won't fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn't looking, agreeing they would end it once the wedding is over. When it’s suddenly pushed up and they only have a few months left of secret rendezvouses, they find themselves regretting that the end is near. Two people this different can’t possibly have a connection other than the purely physical, right?
But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don't fall in love.

If you read the summary, you read the book.
Maybe I should have read the previous books in the series? Or maybe reading it instead of listening to it being read would help? I'm not quite sure. This book just isn't doing much for me.
I was hoping to have some interest at least at the midpoint, but no, every chapter is basically the same. If you read the summary, you read the book. Two people who didn't like each other, got drunk & had sex. They're both single but don't want their mutual friend to find out, never really giving a good reason why. So, they pretend not to like each other in public but tear each other's clothes off in private. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Such an amazing story! The 3rd in a series of amazing stories about Black women stumbling into love and all that entails! The characters are real and relatable and you will find yourself wondering what’s next for them! I can’t wait to read the next one! And the narration is amazing!

Another entertaining addition to series
I've enjoyed the previous books in this series; they all can stand alone but benefit from each other. Janina Edwards is the perfect reader, she added to my enjoyment. This is less humorous than The Proposal but the characters are as likable and you root for them to figure things out in the end.

What is love, baby don't hurt me.
This book was a tough one for me. Both characters while believable ended up being mildly annoying and slightly immature. Fighting with themselves not to fall in love proved to be more difficult than they thought. I realize there are people who connect in these ways and that many times they are too stubborn or stuck in their ways but between all the pizza and back and forth with feelings it became a tad too much. Yet, the narrator did a great job and the surrounding characters truly help to fill in the areas where I wanted to checkout. Overall I did enjoy this book though not at much as the previous two. But I was vested, wanted to see where the relationship went always hope for a happy ending. l
