Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Killers, Parallel Universes, and Jim!!!
When you have an enemy force souped up and wanting to kill anyone and everyone to be the dominant species something must be done about it. Who better to send after these killers but none other than Jim, at times i was not sure if this could have been pulled off and I still can't tell if in the end what was needed to happen was the best choice and watching loved characters no longer be alive leaves me with some sadness for them and myself? I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Fantastic
The author has definitely kept the possibilities of multiple storylines with this book. I feel the last dimension will play a vital role in the next book but hey that’s just my thought.
This book has some great emotion thrown into the entangled story. I do wish there had been more detail when dogfights were going and a little more depth when things were happening but the author still did a fantastic job throughout. Can’t wait for book 7

I'm Already Anticipating the Next Book!
I absolutely LOVE this series. The narrator is perfect. He can do all of the voices, all of the accents, all of the emotions. It doesn't get any better than this narrator. I love the characters. They are so real. Their personalities shine. Even the characters that are going to die and you only get to meet them for a moment or two seem real and you feel awful when they die. Every second of these books seem so well thought-out. Their witty references to things that are going on in our world today make me laugh out loud. They are facing death and they are still cracking jokes. I love it. Humor in a book is very important to me and I think that's why I love these books so much. There's drama and action everywhere, but humor is sprinkled all around in just the right amounts. If you haven't read this series yet, go find book one and get started. You won't regret it. I had never even heard the term "Space Opera" until I started listening to this series, and now it's my new favorite genre! Stop reading my review now and get started on this series. It's awesome. My only regret right now is that I'm going to have a long wait for book 7.

Consistent fun
So... having got this far into the series, it would be reasonable for readers to have a fair expectation of the type of story and style of writing by now. This new title doesn't dissapoint!
Sometimes, you might think 'more of the same' would be come type of critisism... but this is far from it: a new story, featuring well loved characters engaging in all sorts of new 'adventures', with plenty of fun, action and humour throughout.
Sean Robins has developed a consistent style of writing that is light hearted and very easy to follow, and the narration by C.J.Grey continues to engage, making this a very easy listen.
If you enjoyed the previous books, it's a no-brainer. :-)

“The Nazis called themselves the master race, didn’t mean everyone else had to do it”
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of Sean’s books so far and this is no exception.
A great space opera with plenty of likeable characters, good storylines and tons of action to keep everyone invested!
Does it have flaws? Probably, but I think if anything, they add to its ease of listening and like-ability.
Great narration too with good pacing, atmosphere and character voices.

Another great addition to the Deathbringer series. Great writing and still has the humor throughout the audiobook. Sean has done great creating this universe and I hope it carries on. The narration was spot on as usual and if you loved the previous audiobooks I’d highly recommend listening to this addition. Now to buy the kindle edition !
