New York Times Bestseller

Stop—and even reverse!—age-related weight gain and muscle loss with the first-ever weight-loss plan specifically designed to shrink your belly, extend your life, and create your healthiest self at mid-life and beyond.

You don’t have to gain weight as you age. That’s the simple yet revolutionary promise of The Whole Body Reset, which uncovers why standard diet and exercise advice stops working for us as we approach midlife—and reveals how simple changes to the way we eat can halt, and even reverse, age-related weight gain and muscle loss.

The Whole Body Reset presents stunning new evidence about the power of “protein timing” for people at midlife—research that blows away current government guidelines, refutes the myth of slowing metabolisms and “inevitable” weight gain, and changes the way people in their mid-40s and older should think about food. The Whole Body Reset explains in simple, inspiring terms exactly how our bodies change with age, and how eating to accommodate those changes can make us respond to exercise as if we were 20 to 30 years younger.

Developed by AARP, tested by a panel of more than 100 AARP employees, and approved by an international board of doctors, nutritionists, and fitness experts, The Whole Body Reset doesn’t use diet phases, eating windows, calorie restriction, or other trendy gimmicks. Its six simple secrets and scores of recipes are easy to follow, designed for real people living in the real world. A dining guide even shows how to follow this program in popular restaurants from McDonald’s to Starbucks to Olive Garden. And best of all: It works!

PDF was included

People are incorrectly reporting the PDF is missing. If using your phone, it is listed at the top of the chapters list. On your computer, it is in your library. AND the recipes are listed as well.

Only the most basic of information

If you’re new to exercising or it’s been a very long time and you’re out of the loop with nutrition and this was a good book for you. But if you have any foundation of nutrition and exercise don’t waste your time. It becomes more frustrating than anything else

Excellent health advice

I was pleasant surprised by how well researched and inspiring this audiobook is. Audiobook listeners also get a pdf download with worksheets, recipes and exercises. I’m enjoying the changes in my meals and believe the strength training routine (offered w different plan for different abilities) will getme to the point i need to be.

Uncomplicated and easy to establish

There is very little in this book that was unknown to me, however, what I didn't know, was the most crucial part!. I have always been slender but at 64 I am now struggling with a waist and stomach that is unflattering. I was able to start implementing the principles on day one because most of the "called" for foods were already in my home. In 1 week my energy has returned and I am capable of following this lifestyle absolutely anywhere. The parts that I think could have been left in the PDF is the reading off of what to eat and certain popular restaurants as I know that it would have been easy to read on my own at a later date. I applaud the authors for addressing the senior population and our specific needs. Thank you!

This is for us, the older adult!

This book is dedicated to the older adult who had different nutricional needs than younger people. I learned that my protein intake must be higher than I was consuming and delicious ways to fulfill my healthier lifestyle. Thank you Stephen Perrine, Heidi Skolnik and AARP.

Disappointed

I enjoyed the book BUT there are FAR too many references to PDF’s w/o any guidance on how to access them. My takeaways are 3 meals daily, emphasize protein & fiber, and avoid sugars & sodium. This audio book would benefit greatly by providing the listener access to the referenced PDF’s.

Some books don’t translate well to audio

Whilst the fundamental message of this book is interesting, valid and well researched some books just don’t translate well to audio - and this is one of them! Often it is literally like listening to someone read out their shopping list. 100g chicken breast, 20g protein etc etc etc just couldn’t listen anymore.
Whilst it does come with a pdf that is very useful I recommend, if you are interested in this subject, that you get the actual book rather than the audio version.
