Publisher's Summary

The second stand-alone thriller from the award-winning author of The Nowhere Child, Christian White.

Set against the backdrop of an eerie island town in the dead of winter, The Wife and the Widow is an unsettling thriller told from two perspectives: Kate, a widow whose grief is compounded by what she learns about her dead husband’s secret life; and Abby, an island local whose world is turned upside when she’s forced to confront the evidence of her husband’s guilt. But nothing on this island is quite as it seems, and only when these women come together can they discover the whole story about the men in their lives.

Brilliant and beguiling, The Wife and the Widow takes you to a cliff edge and asks the question: How well do we really know the people we love?

What a mess

After 30 hours of reading a 7+ hour book, all I can say is could anything be more confusing? The comparison to LOST is definitely appropriate. This book is nothing short of a ridiculous mess. Hint to author... Using an incredible amount of the f word does not make for a good book.

Wow!! Wonderful!!

I discovered this author in the new Plus Catalog here on Audible- and saw that not a lot of people had reviewed his books - - - but gave him a chance anyway!!

Brilliant - I love the way he writes - I’ve spent the whole day listening to this book while I worked - - and the end just blew me away!

Please listen to his books. He is the author whose writing grips you, and you pray that he is 70-years old with 40+ books under his belt - because you want to read every one of them.

Alas, not. I only found 3 here on audible - but I will continue to look for more to come out. Wonderful job Christian!!

Great concept, incredibly boring execution The idea of the story sounded great and intriguing but it just went nowhere. Just insanely boring. Save your credit.

Great murder mystery

Lots of misdirection. a few nice twists. Good narrator, but you may have a bit of trouble with the Australian accent at first with some words. Great from start to finish.

Wasted Potential

The story had so much potential. However, I couldn’t get interested in any of the characters - there was very little depth to them. I would have liked to see some grief displayed by the widow, and a deeper family connection for the wife. The plot seemed solid enough, even though the storyline didn’t always flow smoothly and was often confusing as to whether they were in past or present.
