If you are Stuck in your life...Listen to this!
At first it was a little dry...but VERY interesting and I couldn't stop listening because it was so interesting. I am so glad I kept listening! If you are stuck in an unwanted mindset, you want clarity for onset of sicknesses and (with the necessary work)how to reverse it, or you really want to move past something negative in your life and you've done all you knew to do...listening to this tells you how you got there, why it's there, and how to get unstuck...Get this book, mash play, and listen until the end. It will get you unstuck!

A Masterpiece
It is understandable that this audiobook should have both passionate positive and negative reviews: it offers a genial new interpretation of biology, evolution and history, with ramifications into medicine and psychology.
An earlier reviewer remarked the ideas contained here would never be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Indeed! - these journals do not publish personal interpretaions. A book (or in this case, an audiobook), and not a peer-reviewed journal, is the perfect medium for this kind of work.
I am an M.D., I was marveled by this work and highly recomend it to everyone.

Science?
The presentation was similar to sitting in a lecture hall for 9 hours, so I had to take it in small chunks. His ideas ranged from interesting extrapolations from scientific information to wild and prophecy-like. Helped me see science in a new way, but I had to maintain a fair amount of skepticism because I don't have access to the references he used and he jumps to conclusions very quickly- often too quickly.

This book is EXCELLENT!
Since the negative review writers here boast that they have their PhDs, I will mention my creds. I have a BS in Chemistry and an MS in Public Health. I'll get my PhD in a science, which in my view is not a huge deal!
Bruce Lipton is amazing to me. This book really explains why the medical establishment has no idea how so many of our illnesses are caused. If you don't know what I am talking about, just sign up for some Anatomy & Physiology classes at your local community college. Take Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Microbiology. Discover that professors all around the country, including medical school professors, are teaching this dis-ease and that dis-ease, but when they address the cause, they teach "We don't know what turns the genes on!" Bruce Lipton offers the brilliant idea that the internal environment and our perceptions (stress, fear, worry, etc.) are what determines what genes are turned on, and thus what proteins are made, which determines function. His idea that the cell membrane is more analogous to the brain and the nucleus is more analogous to the gonads is truly a ingenius paradigm shift! A brilliant read! Loved every word of it!

Wonderful
I really enjoyed this Audiobook. I'm a nurse and I've always wondered why some people get sick and others don't. Some eat well, excercise and do all that stuff right and have a heart attack while smokers and junk food eaters do fine. Of course, that's not always the case but this book explains why it can be the case. Shows how powerful stress is in our bodies and how our fear based society contributes to so much disease.
I definitely see why the pharmaceutical companies wouldn't like this book as it shows your belief in medicine is more important than the medicine itself. As a nurse I've witnessed this first hand.
This is a wonderful book and recommend it to anyone with an open mind.

Its not just about the book or the author. Its more about the reader/listeners perception.
I have read many books on this context and I have to say the breakdown that is presented here is one of the best . I have read all the reviews here and see where a lot of the people who wrote a negative review are hard core by the book science believers, even though some do have open minds and can relate and some who have no background in science don't seem to see the connective bridge. As for me, I livebthe connection and the explanations and concepts that even though there is no proven fact in some I of it as of yet, you have too have an open mind. And to some out there the world is not flat!

A Lot of Good Basic Biology, but...
Outside of basic biology, he is in woo-woo land (his word), where he has leaped to his wild ideas from his incomplete understanding of electromagnetism and quantum mechanics (in "The Field"). He denies biochemistry and instead forwards what I would call "biowavology" (though at his level of understanding it is Woowoowavology). He also suffers from a weak grounding in logic (or he would have caught his conclusion jumping, and, in trying to slam Darwin, his self-contradiction).
On the dangerous side, his conclusions would have people meditate and sitting on crystals rather than seeking medical attention. At his highest level of thinking (civilizations should be like cells), he thinks he has discovered a higher truth, but he is really only offering a Potentially Useful Perspectives, which are trifling compared to the Philosophy of Broader Survival (he needs to read it).
Basically, in his zeal to construct a new mode of thinking, he shuts-out a lot of reality.
Maybe he went off the deep end because the New Age insanities that he endorses are popular, and thus they sell books and get lecture gigs (and maybe a sleazy publisher advised him to mix-in some New Age, since it sells - my guess). He does his audience a disservice, however, in pandering to their ignorance (hence the 'sleazy').
I'll relisten for the fundamental biology (I missed a lot while multitasking, and he presented details that I did not know or understand fully), but not for the woo-woo (where he goes off the deep end, especially with epigenetics). Sad, because when he sticks to reality, he presents a lot of good points (like GMO's and its hazard of horizontal gene transfer).
If he were serious, he would stop right now and bounce his ideas off of an electrical engineer and a physicist. They would point out his errors (and they would be aghast at his woo-woo's, which really get going in the latter half of the book).

Super Thought Provoking
The first 3 chapters lay the groundwork for science laymen, such as myself, to follow along his line of thought until the end. I am thankful for the time taken to lay this foundation and am dissapointed this is in the sudo science category. The only negative for me is that the groundwork branches off into three different aspects but the book seems as if it was shortened for the masses to digest. The last chapter left me ready to go more in depth but sadly was the end. So I guess my only complaint is I want more.

More on how to control your cells
This is easy listening, the authors voice is so easy to listen to.
I have done basic anatomy and physiology, so can understand the structure of cells, and was able to follow the majority of this book. There were sections though, that went right over my head - physics! But that didn't bother me, I think I may have learned a thing or two, which is a good thing.
I do wish that the book went further into how to change "the tape" or your sub conscious, that was a bit of a let down. But ultimately I now understand that I control my cells, not my DNA.

I'm impressed.....
Would you listen to The Wisdom of Your Cells again? Why?
I only listened to Lipton's performance for 2 hours but I know I'm going to listen again to this great book!
What other book might you compare The Wisdom of Your Cells to, and why?
I can't compare at the moment.
Have you listened to any of Bruce H. Lipton’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No but after that book I'm certainly going to...
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I've been recently diagnosed with very rare genetic disorder and since my diagnosis read and listened to a number of relevant books. This one belongs to my favourites. It confirms again that we aren't predetermined by our genes and we can change expression of our genes and the energy is what really matters. That's what we are made from....

This is the most amazing eye opening book
This is the most amazing eye opening book I have ever read. Bruce Lipton is a scientist that is not afraid of challenging the establishment dogma. He explains that our cell membrane is actually a carbon based LCD computer chip, DNA is the hard drive containing the software. We are the operators and it depends upon our perceptions as to how the programme operates, change our perceptions and you change the programme.

Thought provoking
This not a book for the gullible but it is thought provoking. I read it as one persons honest attempt to explain reality and the human condition. Orthodox scientific believers will be offended by it's leaps of imagination. If you believe that the search for truth can only be pursued within the bounds of our current scientific conventions you will be probably feel threatened. The scientific method is crucial in the search for answers about the nature of reality and the technology that enables us to look inside a living cell could not exist without it. But all the science in the world, past , present or future cannot address the fundamental questions without the power of the human imagination. This book deserves to be read.

Enchanting
I have listened to this three times now. I am not a scientist. Four decades ago I was compelled to take Biology, Physics and Chemistry at school. Teacher after teacher mercilessly hammered the point that these subjects were dull, lacking in creativity, imagination, insight and above all - no 'classical' experiment we copied ever replicated the 'correct' results. However much I wished to cheer for the trail-blazing scientists who featured in my History and Philosophy lessons, actual laboratory outcome after outcome was just so much garbage. Little wonder that for every scientist who sticks their head above the parapet and makes a statement, 600 rent-a-gobs can be hired to 'prove' otherwise. I don't pretend to understand most of what he says, but Bruce Lipton speaks with enthusiasm (real passion) and integrity about something that affects us all. I loved every minute of it. Indeed, at no time did it sound scripted, academic or authoritative (in a detrimental sense). We're told we each have trillions of cells. I would encourage everyone to hear what Bruce Lipton has to say about them.

This is an insight into science at its peak
This is ground breaking science as a researcher I identify with his methods, too flexible for some who like to think of the world as flat or rigid, this book will give your ideology and world view a workout. Dont read it if you are rigid and do not understand that science is imagination and creativity. Einstein would visualize what it was like to travel on a sunbeam at speed of light and this book helps you visualize the life of the cell. If your veiw of science is not developed enough you will believe that we scientists just see the world as rigid laws and think we understand how everything works. Wake up to how scientists really think. Creatively, imaginatively and a little bit flawed. Dont believe everything but listen to his ideas and develop your own theories. My rating excellent. Graduate level thought brought to man in street.

Life changing information!
This book has really changed my life. The information, delivered in such an engaging way by Bruce Lipton himself, is science the way we should be receiving it. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to expand and discover what every human really already feels inside.

Open minded people will love this
Loved the story and hypotheses in this book. Some information was kind of repetitive at times though. It's more like a talk show of one person that requires some editing rather than an audiobook.
