Troubleshoot Your Craft

I really enjoyed Thorn Mooney’s first book Traditional Wicca, but I absolutely love The Witch’s Path. Mooney has such a friendly, approachable, relatable, and charming writing style, which I greatly admire. While seekers and beginners can enjoy this book and get a lot out of it, I feel it’s ideally more suitable for someone already on the path of witchcraft that has found themselves in a rut or overwhelmed with difficulties within the witchcraft and pagan community. Anyone who has been practicing witchcraft for years with seriousness is bound to find themselves feeling uninspired, burned out, and unconnected from their Craft at some point on the path. With complete transparency, Mooney shares her struggles with this and, more importantly, provides insight into how she overcame it in hopes that you can too, when you are up against these roadblocks.

Regardless of whether you view your Craft as spirituality or religion, The Witch’s Path shows that there is indeed depth to the Craft. To discover these answers, Mooney shows that this depth and “advanced” witchcraft is there if we are earnestly looking for it. She encourages us to approach this path with reverence regardless of if we relate to it as a religion or spirituality, not treat it as something to dabble in with the sole intent of self-service or as an aesthetic to serve our egos while also suggesting we keep it in balance with not overextending ourselves to others to our own detriment. This book is inspiring, honest, and level-headed while remaining supportive, understanding, and urging the reader to discover their own answers without ever being condescending.

The Witch’s Path isn’t a book of just spells and rituals. This is a book about reigniting the spark, passion, enthusiasm, connection, and awe of a witch’s Craft - which is much more crucial if we are going to have our magick and spellcasting be effective and treat this as our spiritual life path. You aren’t necessarily getting training on “how to be a witch” or “how to cast spells.” What you are getting is something much more valuable, the wisdom of years of experience of a sincere practitioner within the Craft regarding some of the most difficult challenges the witch is bound to confront, which is rarely if ever discussed in other books. I don’t see eye to eye with every witchcraft book, though I can appreciate and find stuff that I can resonate with inside almost all of them. That being said, I’m amazed by how similar Mooney’s perspectives on most topics within the book are to my own, which I feel can often be rare for me. This book is definitely a great addition to my library, and I’m sure it’s one I will come back to re-read periodically.

A book worth multiple reads

Because I’ve had trouble getting my hands on a physical copy of the book, I figured it was worth a try listening to it. There are so many amazing points and exercises that I would love to go back to. And some chapters I really want to take my time on. Thorn has such a unique writing style, intellectual but also down to earth. This is absolutely a book worth reading, listening to, and savoring in its various forms!

Stunning and informative

I am a newbie to this path, and have been searching for a book that isn’t just spells cover to cover that can actually give me insight into the path I’m leading. A fantastic read with lots of detailed notes and encouragements. Will pick up a hard copy for the activities.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one!

I just started listening last night. The Witch's Path immediately put a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eyes. The entire time I was listening to it my head was nodding up and down like a bobble head doll. I've been on the path for 25 years now and found this book to be real and refreshing! if you are already a practicing Witch or Wiccan you'll be able to relate to it as well. if you are just starting out, it offers excellent information to help you establish a foundation for your path. Highly recommended!

This is one of the most important book about witchcraft I’ve ever bought. I wish I would have found it sooner.

Informative and an excellent listen.

A realistic introduction to the world of witchcraft. This audio book was one I really enjoyed, not only did it make me think this one offered exercises and places to start from.

Get the actual book

The content of this book is fantastic. The narration of this book… not so much. I love Thorn and I dream of the day she will someday read her own books to us, on Audible.

I found the narrator of her first book to be quite irritating and was so happy to see this one had someone else doing the reading. As hope springs eternal, I believed this one HAD to be better. Ooooooohhhh, I was so wrong. Inflection, attitude, pronunciation, cadence. All are SO off, throughout this recording.

I will read this book, over an over. But I will definitely not listen to it, again, in its present form.

Please, Thorn, pleeeeeeaaaaase oh please re-record your books for us. Hell, I’d spend 2 credits each, to buy them again, if you did!

Audible, please do better.

Excellent witchcraft book

I wish they'd got Thorne to read the book herself. The reader is very emphatic and the first person, anecdotal style feels less authentic performed by someone else.
That said, if you are looking for a witchcraft book, this is really excellent. I'll be buying the physical copy too to better access all the tasks and journal prompts which I did not do on this first listen through.

A Fantastic Read for All Witches of the Modern Day

This latest release by Thorn is a refreshing and highly relatable take on the spiritual path and practice of the modern Witch. This book speaks to practitioners from beginner to advanced and many of the common topics we all have approached at some point on our path.

Thorn seemingly felt to have somehow read my thoughts and feelings and spoken it into this book. Her approach is down-to-earth, honest, practical, and encouraging. She speaks on ways in which we craft our own path, or how we can re-engage with one we’ve forged over the years, and bring back the spark of excitement and passion back into our practice.

I highly recommend this book especially for beginners looking for a place to start. I feel Thorn’s approach is very grounding, welcoming, and reassuring, elevating beginner practitioners to a place where they can feel confident in taking their first step.

Thank you so much Thorn, this was an uplifting and inspiring read for me 🌸
